I've been meaning to ask, is The Mandalorian the first time we've seen Jawas on a planet other than Tattooine?

In canon? I think so. In the EU, not so much.
I've been meaning to ask though; did anyone else think these Jawas' eyes were a little redder than usual?

The eyes are red (instead of yellow) and their cloaks are more of a black/charcoal (instead of the original brown.)

I just don't understand the raving for this show. It's so... simple.

Simple yes, but a well executed and crafted story that is enjoyable is enough. Star Wars is at its best that way IMO.

I’d rather that than complex political nonsense about blockading trade federations over route taxation zzzzz

But it's all about... nothing. A guy in cool armor is protecting a green 50 year old baby because... it's cute? Yay?

simple is FAR better than utterly over-complicated and convoluted.. like:
FINN: I'm sorry. This fleet is doomed... If my friend comes back to it, she's doomed too. I've gotta get this... I've gotta get this beacon very far away from here, then she'll find me and be safe. ROSE: You're a selfish traitor. FINN: Look, we cannot outrun the First Order fleets. ROSE: We can jump to light speed! FINN: Well they can track us through lightspeed. ROSE: They can track us through lightspeed? FINN: Yeah. They'll just show up 30 seconds later and we'll have blown a ton of fuel. Of which, by the way, we're dangerously short on. ROSE: They can track us through lightspeed. FINN: Yes. And they could... I can't feel my teeth. What did you shoot me with? ROSE: Active tracking. FINN: What now? ROSE: New hyperspace tracking... Hyperspace tracking is a new tactic but the principal must be the same as any active tracker. FINN: So they're just tracking us... ROSE: Only tracking us... FINN AND ROSE: From the lead ship. ROSE: But we can't get to the tracker. It is an A-class process they'll control from the main bridge. FINN: Well, I mean, yes, but every A-class process... FINN AND ROSE: Has a dedicated power breaker. ROSE: But... Wait, but who knows where the breaker room is on the Star Destroyer? FINN: I'm the guy who used to mop it. If I can get us there.... ROSE: I can shut their tracker down.

Thank you so very much for this wonderfully relevant quote...

It's the simplicity that can drawn individuals in. They can read more in to the characters, a bit more wish fulfillment and fantasy elements, than with elements they don't agree with. It's why mysterious strangers are such a common trope.

What characters? We just have an ultra tropey bounty hunter type... And a puppet baby.

Its fun. That is honestly all I look for in my Star Wars. I'm not expecting deep philosophical journeys or overly engaging character arcs. I'm looking for fun. An escape. And that's exactly what I'm getting. Its a great way to turn my brain off for a bit and go back to the GFFA.

Chapter 2 was my favorite episode. And I was really drawn into the character, even with the helmet. Every emotion he felt I could feel it. It had a lot of humor, whimsy and gravitas.. yet was so simple.. in a back to basics way

I think it's safe to say it's pretty much like the Mando said in the episode: they raised some hell and word got around about an Mandalorian with a child taking on a band of raiders in the middle of nowhere. That one hunter decided to check it out and got lucky. And if he got lucky, others could too, especially when that guy never returned from said middle of nowhere planet...

Or Greef Carga planted a tracking device in the Razor Crest while he was waiting to ambush the Mandalorian. That makes sense with his reputation.

The mysterious stranger style character in the Mandalorian. Yes, it is still a character. It's just more of one that people read in to rather than read out of. And for many that is a great way to engage them.

It doesn't work for everyone.

Or, you know, because he remembers being protected by the Mandalorians after his family is killed by the Separatist army and he can't bring himself to sacrifice A BABY to the Empire?

This show isn't deep, but it's not shallow either. It's pure homage, polished to a mirror shine and filled with pure style.
