Spoilers The Mandalorian | Disney+ | Streaming Nov. 12

The second episode is fine but I can’t think of any reason other than budgetary why the first 2 episodes couldn’t be combined into one episode. It can’t have that much bigger of a budget than Star Trek Discovery and yet it’s only 8 episodes compared to 15 and 14 for Discovery’s 2 seasons.
Maybe they WERE but they split them up to give us two on launch week...........if the rest have a 1 hour run time we'll know. :-) I kinda of like the no B story format. Tell the main story if it takes 30 minutes fine...........if it takes 50, cool.

Well, it's official now. From disappointing, this show has now become terrible.

What an utter waste of an episode. Nothing of consequence happens. The only thing remotely significant is the Mando seeing the baby use the Force. Which you could have easily put into any other story or episode that actually mattered.

The only remotely interesting scene was at the end where the Mando and Kuilli say their good-byes, as the Mando has more than one single line of dialogue at a time and we see the tiniest glimmer of characterization from those two.

Everything else is generally pretty bad if not awful. The Mando proves himself again to be pretty crappy at his job and pretty dumb. His plan for confronting the Jawas was not only stupid but needlessly violet and cruel. He straight up murders three people for no reason. He then kills an animal who is defending its egg.

I'd advise people who haven't seen it to literally just skip to episode 3. You won't miss a single thing except the pain of enduring it.

Well, that's an opinion. I've found it pretty entertaining so far.

I don't even know why YOU are going to watch episode three if it is so horrid.

Fantastic episode, I loved it!

Subtracting out the credits, I think it was only like 27 minutes, but it sure didn't feel short. After watching, I felt like I had consumed a full length episode. It was packed with action and tension and beautiful cinematography.

Baby Yoda is just about the greatest thing ever. The only drawback to keeping it as one of the biggest surprises in franchise history is that we can't all go out and buy one for Christmas now.

And holy smokes, the Jawas were awesome. From their efforts to defend their sandcrawler to laughing at the Mandalorian to pretty much everything they did.

After watching these first two episodes, I'm thrilled they're already making a second season. This show deserves to be nominated for numerous awards.

I have spoken.

I watched 2.5 seasons of Voyager desperately hoping it would get better before I abandoned it.

I can handle watching the Mandalorian, especially if the episodes are so small. I still want to see all the stuff in the trailers that the show has deprived us thus far because it's more important to, I dunno, have an episode about car trouble.

It is, in fact, an opinion. :)

Perhaps phrase it as such...... You literally say 'It's official' and 'it has become'. Nothing there states that you feel or think something, nothing that says 'in my opinion'.

Anyway, I really enjoyed the first two episode. For me personally, I felt it was refreshing to have a slower pace, something that doesn't need big reveals and huge STUFF every 5 minutes. Something where snappy dialogue and witty comebacks aren't scene stealers.

George Lucas himself is a visually driven storyteller. He's horrid with dialogue, can't work with actors, but he can tell a story through images. So many of A New Hope's most powerfull moments were visual ones. And that is what, in my opinion, this show does. Tell a story through images. And mask theater. Where you can't see facial expressions. Where you work with body languages, visual clues and music to make the story work. That's what I'm enjoying here.
But again, that's just personal opinion ofcourse.

I think waiting a week before telling us what he will do with baby is actually accomplishing more than you think.. it has the audience wondering for a bit longer what he could do. Plus their bond is growing, so you are left to wonder what he might do with the baby.

I'm no fan of Disney SW, but this is actually good storytelling.

You doubt the POWER of the Disney marketing and toy departments? I bet Baby Yoda will be on the shelves by midweek at the latest!

I just googled Kuiil and there's already a bobblehead for him. Yeah, Baby Yoda will be for sale very soon.

Ha ha! I bet there are pallets full of them sitting in WalMarts and Targets everywhere!

Probably. People sometimes forget stuff like this is made quite in advance and shipped to stores a week or two before release.

I was kind of surprised to see him popping Ewoks! I know he's supposed to be a bad-ass but this is Disney after all. They seemed to take it pretty well at least, probably excited about claiming their spoils.

Ever since the first episode I've thought that Kuiil looks like Harry Morgan from MASH/Dragnet. I'm probably the only person in America to think that lol.

I would not be surprised to learn that these first three episodes were cut down from a feature length movie presentation or at least were designed that they could be presented as such.
