The Main Characters

There is some crossover between Spock and Kirk at the Academy. We know Spock started the Academy eighteen years prior to "Journey To Babel". We know Kirk was 34 in "The Deadly Years" so if he started the Academy at 18 it was sixteen years prior to that episode. Its possible they met and depending on the way classes are structured, they might have shared a class or two. On the other hand they could have passed each other in the hall and never noticed.

Here's my speculation on where Kirk and Spock will meet in this film...

Kirk goes before a discilinary board for his resolution to the "Kobayashi Maru" test. As is customary in many university disciplinary boards, the panel consists of both faculty AND students.

Spock is on the panel, since he is one of Kirk's upperclassmen/graduate student(?). The panel accepts Kirk's defense and the majority votes to not discipline Kirk, however Spock voted in the minority (voting FOR disciplinary action to be taken).

Possibly this would account for Spock sounding so annoyed during the scene in TWOK when the Kirk was explaining his resolution to Kobayashi Maru (because 40 years later, Spock WAS still annoyed).

...remember, I'm just speculating...or maybe just talking out of my ass.:)

This much I think we know:

-There are some scenes in Iowa, and we will see Kirk's parents.

-We will also see Sarek and Amanda

-Old Spock & Young Spock meet in some way. (?)

-The Academy & no-win simulation are featured.

-Captain Pike is featured.

-We know that Sulu battles some big axe-guy with a sword wearing a space-suit, at some point.

-The Romulans are probably involved.

-The entire original set of characters (including Chekov) is in the film.

-We know Kirk gets to sit in the command chair of the Enterprise in STXI. Pine slipped at least that much info. We can also be pretty sure the film ends with Kirk & Co. on the Enterprise, as Abrams & Orci let that slip out too.

-The time donut isn't in it.

-The SHAT is in every scene...you wish.
