Anyway, my point goes to Is There In Truth No Beauty? The concept of the episode is just a little too silly for my tastes.

Another point for Is There In Truth No Beauty? Some really good episodes have made it this far, except from the third season. This is easily the weakest one compared to the other five.

"Is There..." is, at least, a somewhat imaginative story built on a fantasy idea. "Whom Gods Destroy" is pretty simple crude melodrama, in no way elevated by generally hammy or awkward performances.

Ugh. I There In Truth No Beauty is one of my favorites. Not only can it compete, it's much better than Whom Gods Destroy. I like it better than Errand of Mercy as well.
Anyway. Whom Gods Destroy. Fun, but really cannot compete with the others.

I know that Truth will go out now, but I'll go against the majority opinion and vote for City. It will win, of course (unless Mirror makes an upset) but I think it's a bit overrated. I don't think it's the best of TOS. The central premise doesn't make an awful lot of sense, it overestimates the role of individuals in history, and the role of USA in the WW2.

My biggest problem with "Is There in Truth..." is the way Marvick is depicted. I never found his character to be particularly believable and his unrequited love for Miranda Jones is one more Trek-based example of over-the-top men in love (e.g. Kirk in "Requiem..." and Coleman in "Turnabout Intruder")

I don't dislike EoM. I just think it would have made much more sense for the Organians to reveal their non-corporeal nature and impose the peace much earlier in the story. But then there wouldn't have been much for everyone to do for the remainder of the episode.

The City on the Edge of Forever. I like all the episodes left so this is tough. I think City has the least re-watchability out of the four and it's always been somewhat overrated in my book. Great episode, but not the best IMO. I'm not really into romantic love stories, and that's what this is. I'm also not as fond of the time travel star trek episodes as much as the regular episodes that just deal with space/aliens/exploring, etc.
