The least disliked episode of DS9 - Final Part

Duet again, for same reasons. We are left with only series best episodes to choose from, I pick the one whose biggest flaw irks me the most.

Duet - 3
Improbable Cause - 0
The Die is Cast - 3
Tacking into the Wind - 3

With a heavy heart, I'll send Duet out. An extremely good episode, no doubt about it; really, the only reason I have for eliminating it is that it "only" provides important character development for Kira, whereas the other three provide major developments for the show's storyline.

Improbable Cause - 0
The Die is Cast - 0
Tacking into the Wind - 0

Hmm. Tacking Into The Wind again then. Same reason as before.

Improbable Cause - 0
The Die is Cast - 0
Tacking into the Wind - 1

I guess now I'll vote for The Die Is Cast. Part one was a tad stronger than part two in this case. Tacking Into The Wind is probably my favorite episode remaining because of everything between Kira and Damar.

Gowron's death isn't my favorite part of the episode but that story also has Ezri telling Worf her informed sobering reality about the Klingon empire.

Improbable Cause - 0
The Die is Cast - 1
Tacking into the Wind - 1

Tacking into the Wind again.

Improbable Cause - 0
The Die is Cast - 1
Tacking into the Wind - 2

Duet was my clear favorite, it will forever live as the fourth least disliked episode of DS9. RIP

The Die is Cast again

Improbable Cause - 0
The Die is Cast - 2
Tacking into the Wind - 2

I'll also go with Die Is Cast again.

Improbable Cause - 0
The Die is Cast - 3
Tacking into the Wind - 2

Improbable Cause: a little too onesided to Garak, not enough Odo (like the next episode)

Improbable Cause - 1
The Die is Cast - 3
Tacking into the Wind - 2

I will kill "THE DIE IS CAST". I have to agree with the above poster that part obe was a bit stronger, and had a nice mystery element to it.

Improbable Cause - 0
Tacking into the Wind - 0

I'll give my last round point to Tacking Into The Wind. I think they're both perfect episodes, but Improbable Cause is a slightly better embodiment of what DS9 does best, these huge-universe turning events told through a much smaller, specific story focused on a character or two.

Improbable Cause - 0
Tacking into the Wind - 1

Improbable Cause. Tacking is simply more complex without taking away from individual stories. Everything is more balanced. Everyone has a great story--except Jake!

Improbable Cause - 1
Tacking into the Wind - 1

I'm voting for Improbable Cause. Tacking into the wind is more interesting with Kira and Damar who has become an unlikely ally. Still not a huge fan of the klingon stuff but it doesn't bither me here.

Improbable Cause - 2
Tacking into the Wind - 1

I'm voting for Tacking. Remember watching Improbable Cause for the first time, on the edge of my seat.

Improbable Cause - 2
Tacking into the Wind - 3

You folks keep setting me up, I'll keep knocking 'em down...

Tacking has tacked its last tack...

I love seeing Odo and Garak work together, I love seeing the puzzle pieces that were set up in earlier episodes come together here, I love seeing Enabran Tain come out of exile with a vengeance, I love that Garak blows up his own shop (though I may have seen that one coming), and I love the introduction of Mila here, someone I always wondered whether we'd see again...and then we did!

Improbable Cause it is.

That's a wrap. Good job everyone. I was rooting for "Duet" but we still ended up with a fine winner!

2011 - In the Pale Moonlight
2013 - In the Pale Moonlight
2017 - Improbable Cause

On to Voyager.

Yeah it probably is considering what was left. I watched Improbable Cause and The Die is Cast the other day after seeing this contest pop up again and they still hold up after all this time. :)

Looking forward to revisiting these eps from Seasons 3 and 7. I have "only" watched them once or twice.

This episode deserves to win for one simple reason... the exchange between Bashir and Garak in the Infirmary and Garak's takeaway lesson from 'The Boy Who Cried Wolf'.

Also love the directing of the episode, especially during Odo's meeting with his informant. Deftly accomplished by Avery Brooks.
