The Least Disliked Episode 2025 - VOY Final Rounds

I really don't have anything bad to say about any of these, YoH is such a banger I always hope it wins. Scorpion gives us Seven and doesn't neuter the Borg yet. Faces is a creepy horror type episode with great character work for Torres and features the Vidiians as they were meant to be, conflicted and creepy, although I'm surprised it's made it this far. So that leaves State of Flux to get the unfortunate axe only because I prefer the other three more.

Faces - 0
Year of Hell, Part I - 0
Scorpion, Part II - 0

It's the Face(s) off round now. I adore Scorpion and Year of Hell and it's interesting it's a part 1 vs a part 2.

While the pay off of Scorpion gives us a whole new status quo and changes the entire franchise with the introduction of Seven of Nine, as a standalone installment 1v1 I think the set up and mystery of Year of Hell is more exciting.

Fractions of a percentage in it, but I vote Scorpion.

Year of Hell, Part I - 0
Scorpion, Part II - 1

Wow! I am happy to come along at the right moment to off "Scorpion" and make "Year Of Hell" the winner!

I was hoping for "Year Of Hell" to win this whole time, but thinking it probably just wouldn't make it there, so I'm pleasantly surprised by this.

Yes, it's all a big reset button, but as the whole series is plagued with that, there's something I appreciate about how big YoH goes with it. And at least this reset button is built into the story itself, rather than being the "everything was fine again somehow" cheat we're used to.

I used to be annoyed Voyager wasn't doing "Year Of Hell" as a full season story, but a few decades later, I appreciate the escapism of how weirdly light Voyager insists on being, despite the grimness of their circumstances. In the 90's that was frustrating, but these days I find it refreshing.

So that also makes me like "Year Of Hell" a lot more. I'm glad we don't have to sit through a season of this, and I think a big crazy dark two-parter is actually exactly the right form for this story after all.

I do wonder if two-parters should just be counted as one episode in totality. They are one longer story meant to be considered together. That might shake things up in the results department. Is Scorpion as a whole better than Year of Hell? Does the reset button heavy YoH trump the franchise altering Scorpion? Maybe we need a least disliked two-parter spin off contest. ;)

I run a Most Disliked version of that, but we already did this years. :bolian:
