The Least Disliked Episode 2025 - DS9 Final Rounds

Awesome result. I might go back and forth on which episode is best, Pale Moonlight is among a few DS9 episodes where, top to bottom, the acting far exceeds what we see in every other episodes in the franchise. Every performance is effectively perfect. Dax and Grathon Tolar often get overlooked. The moral question at the heart of the story is something that enriches the entire franchise. It acknowledges Realpolitik without surrendering to it.

I wouldn't have cried if Call to Arms would have won. As much as I am taken by the acting in Pale Moonlight, Call to Arms is a masterclass in story writing and scripting. How much goes on in one episode! The list of things that happen is long. The mood shifts easily between comedy, drama, melancholy, and action. Arguably, the episode is an outline (not quite a playbook) for the rest of the series. Almost every story, including In the Pale Moonlight, is a response to the tensions set up in this story. I love the scene where Sisko tells Kira he will recommend Bajor sign the non-aggresion pact.

ETA: I think Call to Arms has been surpassed as the best season finale by No Small Parts.

As the man said, " you've got to play the cards life deals you. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, but at least you're in the game."

Oh, wait, you eliminated that episode!:rommie::rommie::rommie:
Killing that episode is my mission in life. While I don't like Moonlight ... I can live with it.
