The Least Disliked Episode 2023: ENT Final Rounds

"Proving Ground" It's the least memorable for me. I just remember more specific things I like about "Dead Stop" and "Babel One."

Re: the resiliency of "Dead Stop." I feel like there are very few Enterprise episodes that provide a completely satisfactory viewing experience solely as their own piece, on their own merits. "Dead Stop" stands out to me as one of the few ENT installments that stands alone and succeeds.

I’m going for Proving Ground. I just enjoy Babel One too much as exactly the kind of story I wanted Enterprise to be. My defense of Dead Stop, or at least why I enjoy it so much, is because it is one of the few episodes of Enterprise which feels completely new and fresh to me. Voyager and Enterprise struggled with re-using ToS, TNG and DS9 themes, plots and construct. Dead Stop is so completely fresh and well made that it sticks in my mind from the first time I saw it.

My last point to “Babel One.” Just rewatched “Dead Stop”, it’s so good! So effectively creepy! Such an original threat for Trek… an unmanned repair station.

Also, coming in the midst of Trek’s worst season, I’m more impressed with “Dead Stop.” There was a lot to overcome this season in particular.
