The least disliked episode 2021 - VOY Final Rounds

this is *the* one and only time Chakotay actually stood up to Janeway... and still got sucked in to agree with her.
I don't think Chakotay ever agreed with Janeway, exactly, in this one. I think it was more of a case that, as first officer, he had to back her orders in front of the crew.

I think he handled the whole thing very professionally, really -- question her decision in private, but never let the crew see that their leaders were in disagreement. Which was was why it galled me when she did that whiny "Then I guess I'm alone," bit, because wow, way to take it personally, Captain.

One thing about Living Witness is it is kind of reductionist about race relations. Like the entire history of racial oppression was predicated on who got the blame for a single event centuries ago and the only thing needed to fix it was to prove history wrong.

As if the only thing wrong with blaming an entire race for one ancient incident is the blame for that incident was misplaced.

Yes, that's it exactly - at first her trying to be professional, Chakotay being professional in his disagreement, backing her up professionally but still disagreeing and then that "I guess I'm alone" of hers, ruining this whole vital discussion.

This is one of the moments that made me actually dislike Janeway.
