Just at a guess, that would be Casino Royale to start? And then rolling forward? Or is it all based on Fleming's death?According to Grok, the artificial intelligence of X, Bond books will become public property in 2030. says that's partly why the Amazon deal was made.
It's confusing; in the case of Bond, everything I've been able to find sounds like it's 70 years after Fleming's death and they all become public domain, even though his Bond books were published between 1953 (Casino Royale) and 1966 (Octopussy and The Living Daylights). Yet The Great Gatsby only came into the public domain a couple years ago despite being published in 1925 and Fitzgerald dying in 1940.Just at a guess, that would be Casino Royale to start? Heaven help anyone trying to wade into the mess of what is Flemming, what is McClory, and what is EON.
(I just found out that I'm the same age that Fleming was when he died!)
I am pretty sure that that dates back to Casino Royale itself, so that will be one of the first things to go to public domain.I'm not sure if the line "Bond... James Bond" came from the books or if it was written by the screenwriters of Dr. No, so even that might be out the window.

I'm specifically referring to US copyright in the post you quoted. I guess it's possible the copyright for Gatsby was renewed sometime after Fitzgerald's death; copyright can't be extended past 95 years since publication. But you'd think the Fleming estate would have renewed the copyright at some point, which could have potentially extended the copyrights until 2048 for Casino Royale and rolling foward on the other ones. There are differences between American and British copyright laws

I like using artificial intelligence. Also, if it makes my job easier, why not use it? I asked about Amazon's ' james bond' purchase and learned about it.Please don’t use AI, do your own research
I don't care, I'm a twitter/x addict, I like to use everything that's free on that app.And especially don't use Grok, because screw Elon and the battery-powered horse he rode in on. (Sorry, I know that's off-topic, never mind that he's spent the last three years transforming into the shittiest Bond villain ever.)
Because it can lie. Also, if it makes my job easier, why not use it?
Artificial intelligence technically cannot lie since it does not have its own thinking capacity. However, it finds information it learns on the internet and presents it to you. Apart from this, I know that some information about Grok Trump and Elon is also censored.Because it can lie.
You're ignoring the issue of AI "hallucinations" — where instead of just spitting back information it was fed (whether that information was correct or not), it transforms it into something else that is incorrect.Artificial intelligence technically cannot lie since it does not have its own thinking capacity. Just like James Bond says the copyright on the books will be cut off in 2030 but it will actually be cut off in 2035. I've never used AI other than asking Grok about a few TV series and movies, so I don't know about these kinds of situations. Then you're right, Grok, I should have investigated this information thoroughly when I learned it.You're ignoring the issue of AI "hallucinations" — where instead of just spitting back information it was fed (whether that information was correct or not), it transforms it into something else that is incorrect.
As I could but won't.Because it can lie.
As covered in this video:You're ignoring the issue of AI "hallucinations" — where instead of just spitting back information it was fed (whether that information was correct or not), it transforms it into something else that is incorrect.
Using any AI to perform a search is ill-advised because of the multiple issues already noted. Wikipedia is available. There are many James Bond websites available. Anything associated to Musk should never be the first line of thinking for your source - you might as well say "I made it the fuck up."Just like James Bond says the copyright on the books will be cut off in 2030 but it will actually be cut off in 2035. I swear, until you said this; I didn't know about the hallucination issue. But since I already learned this information while looking for something, it's a little ridiculous to expect me to use wiki for information that I wouldn't normally learn. I'll do some research the next time I do a search like this on Grok.Using any AI to perform a search is ill-advised because of the multiple issues already noted. Wikipedia is available. I have never read a James Bond book before. Of course, in my country it is only known as a movie series. The books may not even be published. Other than that, I have never visited a James Bond website except for a few times. There are many James Bond websites available.
