Which would it be?None of the above
Fair enough, I should have included that option. This is why I don't create threads! I take it adding poll options is something mods can do? Could one of you add "Don't care" to the poll? Pretty please?'I don't care.'
Turns out I rally have no clue about creating threads, I was able to add such an option myself. Sorry for the inconvenience, I'm not good at this.Fair enough, I should have included that option. This is pretty much my stance on it too. Timelines are serious funThing is. I consider Discovery to be part of the ongoing continuity in which TOS exists, but I also don’t care.
Who am I kidding? It’s canon dammit. I like timelines and chronologies, and I want this to fit the one in my Star Trek encyclopaedia. So far, it does.

Well, technically, TOS is also in the Yesterday's Enterprise timeline, as is ENT, since the point of divergence was somewhere in the 2340s (?).Hey - what if it is the yesterday’s Enterprise timeline just a hundred years earlier?
Tasha is alive!Tasha is alive you guys. Tasha. Is. Alive.
Otherwise, this ^It's a hugely schizophrenic production. The powers that be are saying it's set in the Prime Universe, but they're asking for and okaying things that deliberately contradict that - like all Klingons being bald because their ridges are sensory palates. The Mirror Universe Terrans all have a sensitivity to light, except Mirror Kirk's bridge was fullbright. They reference "In a Mirror, Darkly" but "Affliction"/"Divergence" never happened.
I suspect the insistence that Disco is prime comes from market research and disdain for their audience. They probably learned that 10% of their viewers would cancel if the show wasn't Prime (a poll I conducted here ages ago had similar results), but also think they're complete idiots that'll swallow anything with "prime universe" slapped on it.
And I say all that as a fan of the show, but one who watches it as it clearly has been created - a loose prequel/reboot along the lines of Smallville or Gotham, where you know roughly where everyone'll end up but the how and why will change.
It's canon, it's officially Prime Universe, but really it's a reboot with "prime universe" slapped on it to appease a few die-hards.
I... wait...Well, technically, TOS is also in the Yesterday's Enterprise timeline, as is ENT, since the point of divergence was somewhere in the 2340s (?).
