Ok, I want this to be a positive thread. If you have something bad to say about the new movie - post your concerns somewhere else. Everyone is entitled to their opinion - IDIC and all that, but I really want this thread to focus on the new movie in a positive way. Feel free to open your own "I'm not excited thread" if you want to complain, mock, express disappointment etc.

Firstly, I'm excited about the new movie. I'm a 30 year old man and I don't mind admitting I havent been this excited about a new movie in years. There. I've said it. Damn, I wish this movie was out next week. I keep forgetting it's not cool to be excited when you are supposed to be an adult - paying bills and going to work etc.

Thus far, pretty much everything I've seen and heard about the movie looks great. Pretty much how I would have done it (Well, I might have left the time travel out , but we'll see - I have faith) I like the creative team, the casting, the buzz. Everything. I honestly don't remember it being like this when NEMESIS came out. Damn, if I didnt get a little giddy when JJ confirmed the doors will go swoosh in the movie

So come on, don't be afraid! If you are excited about the new Star Trek movie then post here!

I'm far more excited about this film than I have been since GEN, which was a huge disappointment so I don't bother to count it. That makes TUC the last time I was this excited. This film gives me hope for the future of the franchise.

I went into all of the TNG films with more of a sense of obligation. I had diminished expectations, and they failed to satisfy even those.

It's going to be a long wait until December.

I'm pretty excited about the new movie. I love Star Trek, and I'm happy about it being back on the big screen again. Hopefully it will do well so we can have more Trek on the silver screen in the future.

I think the new movie will rock. I love Lost, and MI3 was a good movie, I think Trek fans should be happy that a real talented team is trying to revive our beloved show. I have not been this excited about Trek since TNG premiered in 87.

The last time I remember getting quite this excited about Trek was when DS9 lost the station to the Dominion. It's so great to really be looking forward to Trek again.

Without sounding too melodramatic, I believe it’s the best chance for the franchise in decades. I raised my eyebrows a few times over the casting choices, but overall I trust JJ’s judgment. And I am thrilled with Nimoy’s participation. So, yes, I echo your sentiments. I am with you.

I agree that its probably the best chance for the franchise in decades, but I am also worried that after this movie there will be nomore TNG or DS9 or VOY related stuff, everything will be based on the TOS era.

I hope they keep TNG, DS9 and VOY somehow connected to this movie even if just by reference. At least keeping the door open for the other series'.

It does seem like the shoe is on the other foot these days, so I'll be the first to say it...

Your Trek is dead, old man. Stand aside and make way for the next generation of fandom. We laugh at your bumpy-forehead aliens and inane technobabble. Your "special" effects make us giggle, and your lame-ass Borg remind us of third rate zombie movies. And don't get us started on those idiotic pajama costumes, etc., etc., etc.
