The "I told you so" thread...

It isn't glass, sigh
Oh? Was the technobabble so bad that they explained the 'windshield'?

they probably have technology way more advanced that can change the amount of light that gets through the window
I'd hope so. In fact, I'd think the technology would be so good that a window on the bridge will be obsolete.

lol, we are just going in cirlces, you'll never convince me having a window is a bad idea, and i'll never convince you having one is a good idea

at any rate, it doesn't bother me there is a window on the bridge, i highly enjoy the movie and dont' have an issue with it

Seeing an image on a viewscreen is very different than seeing something with your own eyes.
Exactly. Try staring at the sun for a few minutes through a pane of clear glass.

Are you suggesting that IQ's will drop substantially by the 23rd century? Or are you just exaggerating in an attempt to prop up your lame position?

Astronauts have insisted on windows since the Mercury missions. I don't recall any astronauts since going blind because they stupidly chose to gaze at the nearest star for a prolonged period of time.

Next weak argument, please.

I'm not to blame because you can't comprehend the negatives of having a large window on the bridge. You may love the way it looks, but it still doesn't make sense.

Maybe that's because they don't have Star Trek's 23rd century imaging technology at their disposal.

Then there's how it makes sense: It looks good. It's still fiction, you know. :D

I was more worried about the fact he just trashed one of the last V-8 engines in existance...
