The Green Knight (2021)

And BTW, I loved the Relayer album back in the '70s. We used to listen to Wakeman's King Arthur album non-stop in my friend's basement.
I'm having a strop at the moment. They were supposed to play all of Relayer on the tour that's been postponed two or three times - I've been waiting 40 years to see it performed.

They've now decided to play Close To The Edge instead as its it's 50th anniversary.

I'm both furious and off topic !

The only thing that bothered me about Excalibur was the full suits of 16th century armor in the 6th century. Chrome plated! You can play spot-the-film-crew in the reflections. Otherwise, it's one of my all-time favorite fantasy films.

I took my (now ex-wife) to see the Masterworks tour where they played all of side one (Gates of Delirium). At one point, she leaned over and asked me if it was a medley or just one long song. LOL.

as for The Green Knight.. I tried.. I really tried to watch it but couldn't stay with it. I found if just too plodding.

Yeah, they dropped Gates for the Birmingham show. My mates pretty much had to drag me out of the theatre afterwards.

hell of a medley though !

I watched it a second time recently with friends and it was even better, everyone asking questions, offering insights as to imagery and meaning and theme and our own lives.

:) I mentioned Wakeman's Arthurian work to keep in on topic a little bit. Much of it was brilliant. From what I read, the Ice-Capades performance was a farcicle.

He did a new recording a few years back adding extra tracks that weren't possible to include when the original was released.

Unlike the re-recording of Journey to the Centre of The Earth, I don't think that new material really works.

Also as has gotten mention a few times in here I'd love to see an adaption of Bernard's Cornwall's Warlord trilogy take on the Arthurian legend.

And put me down as some-one else who loved Robin of Sherwood though had to watch the beginning (we had it taped) a few times before I got into. There was also a fullcast audio with actors from the series released a couple of years back as wrap up.

Maybe now that The Last Kingdom is almost done, they could do the Warlord trilogy now.

though it might be seen as a bit close thematically for them to go ahead.

then again with prequels and sequels on tv that might not matter anyway.

Incidentally The Lost Kingdom is based on a series of books by the same author.
