The Good In Every Episode...

I haven't watched this episode but I can agree with your description of what you think is bad.

The Q are an omnipotent race who can do almost anything so why do Q have to turn to janeway as babysitter. It would be like some parent leaving a kid alone with the family's hamster as babysitter. No offense to Janeway here but the Q are supposed to be so much more and have so much more knowledge and power than humans.

Q wasn't that impressive or even funny in Voyager as he was in TNG but all episodes with Q have their funny spots and personally I enjoy them.

Which is a reason why Q plays a very important part in one of my own stories. :techman:

"Sometimes I feel so uninspired
Sometimes I feel like giving up
Sometimes I feel so very tired
Sometimes I feel like I've had enough

But don't let it get you down
There is no reason for not failing
You've got to smile and turn the other cheek
So today you might be down
But by tomorrow you'll be sailing
And you won't even hear these words I speak"

For a season 7 episode where new ideas were scant, "The Void" returns to core Trek values and acts like a prequel in terms of how to form a Federation of sorts, but in a novel way. And ends up being one of VOY's more interesting and better stories, IMHO.

"FALSE PROFITS" - This was a bad episode. To me, anyway.

But I did like how Janeway was outsmarted by the Ferengi when he was trying to explain how they were the sages. Equally enjoyable was Janeway's solution of Neelix posing as the Grand Proxy.

Nemesis. Not sure I should be posting that one here, since I don't think it is a bad episode. In fact I think it is quite good.

But I can't watch it without revulsion, and getting tensed up and so I think I have only seen it 2 or 3 times - usually skip it.

I remember though I had appreciation for the way they showed how sneaky and insidious indoctrination can gradually creep in (in this case, in Chakotay's mind).

Interesting idea at Quark's. I posted what I don't like but I also have an episode I skip because I find it very sad and that's Tuvix. Great episode but once is enough for me.

A minor point in "Fury"'s favor: One of the Vidians is played by Vaughn Armstrong, adding another notch in his belt for Star Trek aliens that he's portrayed.

She sets up warnings around it so people can avoid it

Yes, I know she set up warning buoys around the Memorial. But she can't guarantee that they won't break down or that some more primitive space-faring race won't have sensors sophisticated enough to detect them or universal translators advanced enough to translate what the warning buoys mean. What if there are other, more exotic aliens who find their way near this thing and they have such different brain chemistry that it leaves them permanently damaged? There's just too many unknowns for Captain Janeway to leave this thing operating, particularly when she has no evidence that the atrocities depicted even happened.

Q2. Really don't like that episode.

A pretty lame ep. but I did like the exchange between Q & Captain Janeway after Junior gave his presentation about the Q Continuum.
Q: "Very nice. I especially liked the part about the Continuum."
Janeway: "The whole thing was about the Continuum."
Q: "And it was all very nice."

"NON SEQUITUR" - Not a bad episode for me, per se, but it did seem to drag. Bright spot of the episode is seeing alternate timeline Paris get himself killed to save Kim. Always loved their friendship... a cornerstone of the series for me.

Dumb joke from the episode but I like it:
Harry Kim: "I'm going to see Paris."
Libby: "But I thought you said you were going to Marseilles?"

"FALSE PROFITS" - This was a bad episode. To me, anyway.

I don't remember it very well but I like how they did bother to bring back the Ferengi stranded in the Delta Quadrant from the end of "The Price."

When it was first announced that Voyager would be set in the Delta Quadrant back in the day. I sort of expected that these 2 Ferengi would be encountered or at least mentioned.

Overall though, I think "Fury" was more of a story for the fans still watching Voyager, in the style of the later series, with more complex and darker themes, and a nostalgic look back at the early seasons."

I'll grant the darker themes, but I have a bit of a hard time seeing what was more complex (in general) about the themes in late Voyager vs. early Voyager.

Not even in this particular example. Kes getting disillusioned isn't particularly 'complex' in my book (though it certainly is 'dark'). We never even learn, for example why she got scared or what made her scared (only that 'I wasn't ready for what I found. I couldn't control it. It scared me. I had nowhere to go. '), or how she tried to cope with it - well, except for trying to undo her own history by destroying Voyager.

The Q episodes, while being the weakest in any Trek series, still had moments of fun. Yes, the Q were straying from the original intent of TNG. Yes, the Q were devolved into what amounts to 20th century human beings with depression, jealousy, allegations requiring a tape measure, and psychoses to go along with their magical powers... but out of all that, "Death Wish" still remained compelling as one of Trek's better tales on "assisted suicide" if not arcs ("following tradition" and what could potentially happen if one doesn't), as well as showing off the same Christmas tree used to hang those little Hallmark branded VOYAGER ornaments on. Amazing; it's the only time Trek could do product placement with anything approaching subtlety while not reeking of beer, but "Futurama" lampooned that long before ST09 made it canon (!!jinkies!!)...

And keep in mind, Death Wish did fanservice by bringing in Riker and his family tree for no reason, made a pointless Woodstock reference that becomes a miscellaneous post in of itself, and made a blatantly inaccurate Borg reference. Which the latter is actually another positive because it would be fanservice if Janeway spouted verbatim the established TNG continuity, what with her never being on the bridge or remembering Picard's logs and assuming he included all the detail she jumbled up by insinuating Q introduced them to the Borg. In-universe characters don't always know or are there firsthand, but was it all intentional? (I'll say yes because it's 06:23 and I haven't had my coffee yet.)

So worst or not, the Q miniseries that couldn't outdo "Dynasty", still had some interesting and good moments.

Figures as for 2017 and interesting. I can't even remember 'Time And Again' and Dark Frontier was fairly immemorable. The good, I'd say, is that it wasn't unwatchable. Just 'meh'.

why do people want to watch the episode they claim to dislike the most? I'm guessing it's not as hated as projected?

Time and Again, Huh? Those must be mine ;) LOL!!!

I actually like this episode. Very funny here and there.
I can't help it but I like the Ferengi and I thought that it was a splendid idea to follow up the TNG "The Price" with this episode.

Fury

The end with Younger Kes and Older Kes was nice.
I have to disagree slightly. The only nice thing with this episode was when it ended and I didn't throw out the TV which I was very close to do.

All episodes with Q is funny and highly watchable even if I do think that the Q episodes in Voyager were weaker than those in TNG.

"Endgame" at No 1 and "The Gift" at No 6?
Who want to watch those episodes? Two of the three worst Star Trek episodes ever.

Although "Time And Again" is a masterpiece! :techman:
