The Q episodes, while being the weakest in any Trek series, still had moments of fun. Yes, the Q were straying from the original intent of TNG. Yes, the Q were devolved into what amounts to 20th century human beings with depression, jealousy, allegations requiring a tape measure, and psychoses to go along with their magical powers... but out of all that, "Death Wish" still remained compelling as one of Trek's better tales on "assisted suicide" if not arcs ("following tradition" and what could potentially happen if one doesn't), as well as showing off the same Christmas tree used to hang those little Hallmark branded VOYAGER ornaments on. Amazing; it's the only time Trek could do product placement with anything approaching subtlety while not reeking of beer, but "Futurama" lampooned that long before ST09 made it canon (!!jinkies!!)...
And keep in mind, Death Wish did fanservice by bringing in Riker and his family tree for no reason, made a pointless Woodstock reference that becomes a miscellaneous post in of itself, and made a blatantly inaccurate Borg reference. Which the latter is actually another positive because it would be fanservice if Janeway spouted verbatim the established TNG continuity, what with her never being on the bridge or remembering Picard's logs and assuming he included all the detail she jumbled up by insinuating Q introduced them to the Borg. In-universe characters don't always know or are there firsthand, but was it all intentional? (I'll say yes because it's 06:23 and I haven't had my coffee yet.)
So worst or not, the Q miniseries that couldn't outdo "Dynasty", still had some interesting and good moments.
