I just can't see them being stripped of titles or any significant punishment as it would destroy the integrity of the Premier League. It would also open up a huge round of legal action from clubs who would, rightly so, think they have lost out financially.Man City found guilty of 114 out of 115 charges into financial rule breaches!
Where do we go from here? There's no mention of penalties yet, and I'm sure City will appeal so this will drag on yet further.
Must admit I thought they'd get off most of the charges and those that stuck would come with a hefty, but manageable financial penalty. If the Premier League think they're guilty of the vast majority of charges though, I wonder if they plan to throw the book at them?
Stripping titles from them would be unprecedented. We might even have a situation like Rangers a few years back with City being expelled from the Prem and having to drop to down the leagues and work there way back.
Gibson wouldI'd agree that stripping them of titles seems unlikely. I think a substantial points deduction and a substantial fine. I think it will be one of those instances where City feel they've been unfairly punished and every other club will think they've got off lightly.
Irrespective of the punishment handed out, if they've still been found guilty then I wouldn't bet against other clubs still suing them.
Well the fact the EFL rolled out the carpet for Gibson and to a lesser degree couthig.I doubt there'll be any stripping of titles or any other retrospective action, it'll purely be going forward. Big points deduction and a several year transfer embargo. Whether in either case this will be big enough to satisfy the majority of people is anyone's guess.
It could be the compensation claims that really hurt City because it could amount to the death of a thousand cuts.
Much as I want to see City punished, if we get into a scenario where clubs are routinely sueing each other I fear for the game long term.

It will be a tangled web if it happens.
I think with that, and this other clubs should be told to do one. Even back in whatever year it was with West Ham and Sheffield United, United shouldn't have been able to sue West Ham.
Clubs suing other clubs is a rabbit hole you dont want to go down any further. Where does it stop?
Imagine that incident a few weeks ago where the player was banned after a review for scoring a goal by deception..if that was the play off final winner does it open it up for the losing club to sue?
For me it should be between city and the league and it ends there with whatever punishment they give.
The Glazers and Ratcliffe are horrible people, morally repugnant, but they haven't, as far as I'm aware, done anything illegal.Citeh's obscenely wealthy owners will find a way to make it all go away. The FA doesn't care (how else would the Glazer parasites and Ratcliffe be considered "fit and proper" owners?) and will let it happen. UEFA's recently discovered backbone may help a bit but my inner cynic is convinced nothing significant will change.
If I'm proved wrong I'll be very pleased about it.
Retrospective titles and such will be pointless (pardon the pun). Asterisks will have to suffice.
