Spoilers The Flash - Season 4

Basically I'm asking if there is any reason to think his momentum should work like that, because if they are consistent in the application, then that's fine. Right now it seems to work like Warp Drive, where you return to your previous normal space speed upon dropping out of warp.

Except that momentum is a fundamental property which is equal to mass times velocity. That's the only way momentum works.

We've seen Barry speed read to temporarily learn something in the show, so they have set up the groundwork if they wanted to have him do a speed rebuild. Though really, no one can realistically do quality plumbing after only reading about it, there is still an element of training involved.

As I said, in the comics story where he rebuilt an apartment building, the Flash was criticized for taking paying work away from professionals, as well as not getting the proper permits and such. Just because he can do something, that doesn't mean he should.

But Joe is basically is second Dad and the house was what he was raised in. I don't think anyone could complain about someone fixing up their family home. Plus in theory he would still need to buy supplies and he could even give a donation to a workers union. The second issue is if you have repair people around all the time it means when you at the house you can't really talk openly about FLASH related business.

Does quantum entanglement really have anything to do with luck, or vice versa?
What is "luck"? Can you measure or quantify it? In other words: of course not.

I think he has established himself well as Kid Flash, who has proved to be an invaluable member of the team. He will be missed.
Not by me; I got my wish! And I guarantee you that Team Flash (with the odd guest spot exception) function just fine without him, making him far from "invaluable." Nothing against Lonsdale as an actor, but bringing Harry back and sending Wally away, combined with the lighter tone, is a welcome course correction for a series I was just earlier this week questioning my interest in.

The church scene was enjoyable, if horrendously absurd from any kind of real-world standpoint (no, priests aren't going to immediately perform a marriage ceremony for anyone who waltzes through the door - how do they know either isn't already married before invoking "holy" matrimony?!) and a vandalism of Iris' character. (Maybe she'll take over the baton of being "the worst" from Barry this season?) I still want Patty back, but one can't have everything, it seems... :p

I don't mind the silly speedforce shenanigans in this episode, but that they repeatedly mentioned that these guys made a malware app that they sold to a big tech company.
That's... not the sort of thing you advertise or smilingly pose for pictures in tech magazines.

Maybe it was a malware cleaning app, like malwarebytes....

3x04...

A comedy episode. Perfect for Elastic Man. Can't wait to see his sidekick Woozy Winks. I imagined Robe Lowe in the part, btw.

+ Danny Trejo was a riot.

I was considering dropping this show, but that was a pretty good episode. I'll stick around for now.

Joe tossing his cookies was a nice touch.

I think I might skip this episode. I got past The Flash misusing Atom Smasher and Doctor Light. But what they did to Ralph is too far (I got mildly spoiled, and I'm glad I did). Maybe if they stopped hiring writers who actively hated DC comics for every third or fourth episode like they seem to be doing, the show would be a bit more consistently great. Ralph is not a cop, and if he was he would never, and I mean NEVER plant evidence or do shady shit. But, this is the Arrowverse. Sometimes they'll do a DC character justice, then sometimes they will screw the character over with an almost spiteful contempt for the character. This is actually a milestone, because I think Elongated Man is now the oldest DC hero they've fucked over on The Flash (not in the Arrowverse as a whole though, because Legends of Tomorrow took a metaphorical shit on the entire Justice Society of America).

In an interview, the Andrew Kreisberg said they did it because they needed a jerk on the show. So, they went with character assassination of Ralph Dibny to get the jerk they wanted.. Kreisberg is a complete ass, and I wish he'd move on and go ruin something else. That shitty logic is like if they brought in Plastic Man and made him a redneck serial killer because they just really needed one on the show. Or bringing in Static because they need a gang member or bringing in Star Girl because they need an underage prostitute. Making a character completely different from what they are on purpose because you need a certain type of character but want to use a named comic character but can't find one that fits is bullshit.

This Flash episode is now probably the third worst Elongated Man related story I know of, after Identity Crisis and the crappy new 52 Secret Six run. It gets points by not having Sue Dibny getting raped by a supervillain then killed (like Identity Crisis) or having her willingly screw a supervillain (like New 52's Secret Six), at least I assume it doesn't do those things. She doesn't seem to even be in the episode based off what I've read.

Still, screw this episode and this show. I've wanted a live action Elongated Man for a long time, but they've butchered him. I'll tune in next week, where hopefully they aren't fucking over characters who existed before a good chunk of the show's staff and cast were born. Ac

Your insistence on characters only being adapted (key word) in narrowly specific ways is your prerogative, but man you're missing out on some awesome fun with that kind of inflexibility. The Flash has been absolutely killing it this season, and this genius episode was the best yet. I was prepared to love it just from the brilliant title, but the episode still exceeded every expectation I could have had.

God forbid they use the actual goddamn characters. What the fuck is wrong with using the real Elongated Man? Why can't he get a live action appearance on The Flash? He'd fit the show perfectly. This is like if people defended Deadpool in Wolverine Origins, except The Flash ruined Elongated Man way worse the Origins screwed up Deadpool.

Also, its not inflexibility. Its called "I like the fucking character, and I'm not going to watch some asshole use his name for a piece of shit character in their terrible script". I swear, some people are so obsessed with "the writers are always right" that I swear they could make Sue Dibny into a cannibalistic hooker and some of the viewers would demand everyone accept what the show is doing because some viewers seem to hold every DCCW person above criticism.

They did a shitty thing and they should be ashamed. but, since there isn't a single comic fan (or even a single person who has cracked open a comic) in charge of any of the CW shows, we get shit like this. Its a shitty thing to do to the character, and a giant middle finger to John Boome and Carmine Infantino (along with every fan of the real Elongated Man). This is the most offensive thing the Flash has done to a character, even if its not quite as bad as the absolute shit LoT took on the JSA. This was not a genius episode, this was one of the worst things The Flash has done (although the speed force bullshit episode might be an objectively worse episode, it didn't permanently ruin any characters).

If they get him close to his normal self, it'll be more then most characters (Wally) got. You didn't feel any excitement at the end, with the nose twitch, and I smell a mystery??

Very fun episode, and while I was worried about how they started off with Ralph, I really liked where they left off.

Also, Danny fucking Trejo! He just rocks. But I can't shake the feeling that this role was really Plan B as DC wouldn't allow the DCW to use Lobo.

I really enjoyed this episode, and really liked the Elongated man. I hope he returns and he actually does turn out to be good and doesn't turn bad. While I still have concerns that the Flash swung hard to the comedy side, I have found this season more enjoyable than last season was. I do wish Julian would return though, even if it was for a mini-arc.
