Spoilers The Flash - Season 3

It would be counterproductive spending the better part of two months setting up independent storylines for all of the series only to discard everything just for the sake of a crossover.

Also, the changes made by Barry's decision have only affected him and the people closest to him and Central City.

Why SHOULD Flashpoint erase the season of Arrow? Barry's time travel made Pied Piper a hero, with no known after effects otherwise.

This season of Arrow would simply be post Flashpoint events, happening after Flash undoes the effect of saving his mom.

Legends of Tomorrow will no doubt see the temporal flux, and will play a part in the crossover.

Supergirl will find herself outside of time for some reason, giving her an excuse to remember the past. I think only a few minor things will change.

Last year in Arrow a nuke nuked a "section" of Star City.

What ever else happened before then, Superman and Supergirl would have been on the scene damn quickly, or before things got to that point.

Meanwhile Astra would have shit her pants if she had noticed that Damien Darhk wanted to fry the entire planet she was trying to take over.

It wasn't Star City, they nuked a tiny town called Havenrock.
Since nobody on Arrow seemed to care about it, Superpersons wouldn't either.
Havenrockers were all probably Trump voters anyway...

So where is Lynda's unnamed POTUS' term limit in relation to this election cycle if Trump even exists in this universe? Is she sitting back and watching Hilary, or does Lynda's character still need to fight for her own second term?

Supergirl if you remember was one of the boo boos that Jeb Bush made, talking about how "hot" she was after seeing a promotional poster. Maybe Supergirl could remove this Drumpf from contention too?

"Hey Donald, they want you debate Wonder Woman about being a better president than she is, on Supergirl."

So where is Lynda's unnamed POTUS' term limit in relation to this election cycle

Maybe her term is just starting.
When they mentioned the she-president before they could have meant a different she-president, or a he-president who was acting all girly.

You can't see a day when America is ruled by a President with tiny girly hands?

Never mind.

So they talk Trump into playing Lex Luthor, showing a montage of clips from the disastrous Luthor presidency 10 years earlier, but then Donald thinks about it for a while...

"Wait you want me to play some bald guy, how they hell do you think I am expected to pass for a bald guy? I'm not bald, I have a SPECTACULAR head of hair!"

I heard on a podcast, I want to say from Kevin Smith, that Flashpoint only lasts ONE EPISODE. If so I would find that really disappointing. If you're going to do the story, take the time to do it right, not just a one and done! Even if there are consequences throughout the season which I'm sure there will be, I'd still want more than a single episode.

I've said before -- I don't think there's really that much story in Flashpoint to begin with. Most of the comic's storyline was not about the Flash and his actions, but about showing how horrible everything else in the altered DC Universe was. The Flash's part of the story was just the catalyst for a crossover event stretched out across multiple books, so most of it wasn't even about Barry. Strip it down to the bare essentials and you've just got the same old "time traveler changes history, sees how screwed up the present has become, and goes back to fix it" plot that's been done dozens of times before, and which is almost always wrapped up in a single episode, or at most a 2-parter. Even the animated movie version that did show how the rest of the DCU characters were affected still managed to tell the story in only 70-odd minutes. Strip it down to just showing how Barry and the Central City characters are affected (which is probably what they'll do, since the other shows still need to tell their own independent stories) and there's really only about one episode's worth of story there, two tops.

I can't see it being just one ep - there's too much backstory to establish: Barry's relationship with his now-alive parents, his new "history" since he never went to live with the Wests, how they've changed, the Cisco-as-CEO stuff, the confrontations with Thawne, the Wally stuff. Plus they need to establish WHY Barry is ultimately forced to change it back - the clips suggest he's initially happy there despite the change in relationship with Iris, Joe etc... so what changes his mind? It doesn't seem to be the crapsack world the comic Flashpoint presented, so is there some temporal damage caused by Barry that threatens the multiverse? Is he just depowered (but we did the "desperate act to restore my abilities" thing at the end of Season 2)? Realises having Mom and Dad back don't compare to having Iris?

Squeezing all that into one ep would make it a hellava rushed mess.

Yeah, it does seem to be a pretty big story for just one episode. I don't see it needing a bunch of episodes, but I think two or three would be nice, just to give us more of a chance to establish the Flashpoint world, and get to the point where Barry has to change things back.

I want 6, we're going to get two, but, you know even if it only lasts for one episode, some of the Flash Point characters will show up again somehow eventually later this season probably.

So we are finally going to get Mirror Master this season, I'm still amazed it took them this long. Damon's been good on Aquarius, so I look forward to seeing him on The Flash.
