Spoilers The Flash - Season 2

My biggest question right now is what's going to become of S.T.A.R. Labs with Well/Eobard gone. Even if she does become the leader of the group, there's no plausible Iris could be put in charge of S.T.A.R. Labs.

I wouldn't mind seeing Tina McGee in a recurring role as STAR's new head. I've wondered if her appearances to date might've been setting her up for such a role.

I am curious if Amanda Pays has shot any episodes for the new season yet. Her appearances tended to be somewhat surprises last year. When she was announced last year we did not know the specific episode until shortly before air. Same with her second appearance.

I do know though that Vito D'Ambrosio is appearing again as Mayor Bellows in the first episode of the new season. He mentioned it on Facebook when filming was happening. There were location photos of signs showing Central City honors the Flash with his own special Day. The Mayor likely has scenes connected to that.

Sounds good to me. The only reason Iris was a weak link in season 1 was because of Joe's condescending and wrong decision to keep her out of the loop. Once she was in on the secret in the last couple of episodes, she immediately became an invaluable and welcome member of the team. This is just building on that. It seems like a natural progression.

Exactly.. with Caitlyn and Sisco being the (engineering) brains of the operation, Joe being the daddy and voice of reason and Barry being the muscle the team needs a heart and Iris may fit well into the role.

I like her character and the actress so this is good news to me, we'll see how it plays out.

A team only needs a heart-character when there is also a member of the team advocating torture and murder.

Secret prison aside, they'll all too soft as it is.

Barry is already the one on the team with heart, such as rescuing the villains they had locked up. Usually he cares too much and needs to be kept on track; generally Joe or Wells did that.

Barry has a science background, not on par with Cisco or Kaitlin but he's knowledgeable. Iris went to school for journalism and became a blogger. She may or may not be a competent news writer, we haven't really seen her produce any content besides the Flash stuff. She doesn't bring any skills to the team, unless she starts doing Google searches to find out information about bad guys.

What if she's powered up? Of course that would put her out in the field, unless her "powers" were too passive.

Iris is from the future in the comics.

I don't know, solitary incarceration in cells barely big enough to lie down in, without due process to sy nothing of a fair trial and the right to mount a defence or face a jury of your peers is a pretty major "aside".
They may not all be megalomaniacal sociopaths but they all seem to have a very selective sense of ethics when it comes to people who can turn into poison gas...OK, I suppose when one puts it like that....but still, not OK.

If they were smart they'd focus more on their civil case. The prisoners should be thinking about suing STARLabs and team Flash for Millions, and millions, and millions for being kidnappped.

What they should actively pursue is cooperation with the authorities.
The authorities may not like the notion of tolerating vigilantism, but the Flash seems to be generally well liked now after saving the city again and again and the metas are a genuine danger.
So cooperation is in their mutual interest.
The city would be well adviced to build facilities that can actually deal with metahuman criminals, than Team Flash doesn't have to bend the rules ( that much) anymore.

Edit: contracting Tina McGee for that would be a nice way to keep her on the show.

Figuring out how to build a super human prison could take 10 years, since super powers are weird, so it'd be a unique design that could easily take 10 times as much money build than a regular prison, and if it's the size of a full prison rather than just a few specialized cells, it could take 10 years to build.

Giving the accelerator to City Hall, would just help everyone figure out who the Flash is and how to make more speedsters and other super human operatives. Giving or leasing the the accelerator to ARGUS is an endaround that still doesn't qualify the place as legal even though it will obfuscate Barry and metahumanism iin general.

:)

I've been watching a lot of recent Arrow. When Oliver died, Felicity took over the leadership role and she was plenty good at it. They want to capture that lightning in a bottle again for this sister show, but the difference is that Felicity isn't a cock up.

Very cool. Who was that that Sisco was flirting with and who was the guy at the end?
