The Flash - Final Season Discussion

Was anyone interested in their scenes? The show had been particularly heavy with these two and their "romance". I zoned out whenever they were on screen.

I still need to see the final season. But I was done with that during season 8. I mean, I'm ok with the concept of a budding romance. But it felt the writers just said, let's have a tension between them. And leave it there. It went nowhere. So yeah, my interest was lost.

@Christopher must be annoyed that Allegra never got a superhero name. Bloody Cecile did, but not her.

I guess you missed my comment on that point in post #211:

I'm glad we finally, finally got the whole team in supersuits, but it was too little, too late. Allegra finally got a costume for the battle scene, but her code name was never mentioned. The Arrowverse Wiki says it was Accelerant, which, huh? That's a pretty awkward code name, and I don't get how it fits someone with ultraviolet powers. I figure it's probably a reference to the particle accelerator, but many people got their powers from it. Or maybe it's a musical pun? Allegro and accelerando? Whatever -- maybe it's just as well they never used it onscreen. But since it's not from the comics, they could've just made up a better name and actually used it.

Where the Hell was Joe??!!
What do you mean? They said Jesse Martin had a new show, which is why we were suppoed to see less of Joe.... but they could have just done what they did when he had back issues -- have him in enough scenes to seem like he was there, but have them set up so he could do his other thing. (i..e. do a video phone conference, or whatever)
He was there at the end. He proposed to Cecile (Which surprised me in that I thought they were already married).

I also thought he was already married... and they already gave him a goodbye, so they could have spread the love to other characters.... but not too mad about it.

While some good moments... really weak ending to nearly a decade that started out sooooooo strong!

So am I delusional or did they not say that while they couldn't give it a proper wrap-up we'd still see some LOT characters appearing?

So, no LOT tie-up as promised? Another reason for me to skip this season I suppose...

I finally caught up with season 9 and man was that a clusterf*ck. Everything that has been said about it is 100% accurate.

Am I alone in thinking season 7 should've been where the show ended?

I would've made season 6 the final season, but accounting for Covid shutting down productions everywhere. I'd have to accommodate season 7.

I also haven’t caught up with LOT’s final seasons. Man… sometimes it’s best to know when to sign off before things go from stale to terrible.

I would have probably ended with season 5, but I would have modified the story to have the newspaper crisis (minus any crossever episodes to distract from Team Flash) end the season. That version of Nora West-Allen would have given her life to save her father from disappearing in the crisis event (with the hope that a new version of her would grow up with a father, perhaps with a montage in the final episode to show that she was right).

I did at some point finally gave season 9 a go and yeah..... It was really not worth it in my opinion. My real highlight was seeing Ollie back, and having his moments with Barry and John.

The first episode, the Oliver one and part one of the finale are the only good ones IMO
