And yet we're still down from pre Covid levels. Personally I've all but stopped going to the cinema but that's because i'm sick of other people's behaviour in screenings.

Basically me for years.
Human beings are fucking awful and going to the cinema's is proof of that. Plus, it's so fucking expensive.
Wait a couple of months, and I can watch the movie on a streaming service, in my sweatpants, on my couch, on my 49" TV, with my favorite beer and snacks.... Going to the movies was magic as a kid. As an adult, it's a frigging displaycase of the worst humanity has to offer. Yuck.

I don’t think the price is a big thing in the UK with these memberships you can get. £15 a month and you can see as many movies as you want for free. I’ve been doing that for years.

I think the success or failure of Snyder's casting depends upon if one likes his takes on the characters. I don't like the Aqua-Dude-Bro take on the King of the Seven Seas, so I don't particularly think Momoa is great casting. I don't really care for Snyder's take on any of the Justice Leaguers with a possible exception for Wonder Woman, so his casting choices fall flat for me. That being said, his choices do portray what he directed them to portray.

It was Snyder who cast Miller and each of the Justice Leaguers who appeared in the film, and set the general tone of their characterizations, so rightly or wrongly, Snyder will get the credit or the blame for most of the DCEU even when other directors have taken what he established and built upon them.

Casting is one of the few things I think Snyder did superbly. There are other things, like basic storytelling, that I think he's dreadful at. No person is just one thing. And the DCEU is not just one thing. Snyder is merely one of the many factors that went into it. It makes no more sense to give him all the credit or blame than it would to deny his contributions entirely.

The cameos were cool, but the movie is a mess which isn't surprising given it's production history. So long DCEU, you died as you lived, as a confusing mess.

I enjoyed it, lots of laughs and emotional gut-checks.

I remember a few comments about the blue/yellow lightning difference. Did anyone else figure that out? Barry #1 hinted at the reason without actually saying it, but I think it's obvious if you were paying attention.

As far as the Speed Force cgi, I get that it was a stylistic choice. Everything is slightly distorted inside the chrono-bowl, so the uncanny valley stuff is fine with me.

Supergirl looked better than I expected from what I saw in leaked photos. Sasha Calle deserves another shot at the part if that movie is still in the cards.

Michael Keaton obviously got a kick out of doing Bruce/Batman again. The kitchen fight scene had me laughing out loud, especially the skillet throws matching the drum hits from 25 or 6 to 4. The catchphrase revisits didn't bother me at all. On the contrary, I smiled quietly to myself.

As always, Affleck did his job. I'm not a huge fan of his Bruce/Batman. Nuff said about that.

The Clooney scene got a big laugh. I doubt that he would don the cowl again, but maybe a Beyond thing? Who knows. I try not to spend time on what ifs.

Overall, I think they did a good job of turning a doomed mess of a movie into something watchable and enjoyable, so they can leave that behind and move on to the next phase.

Congratulations and good luck to James Gunn.

Best part was the action sequence in Glasgow at the beginning. Minus the weird cgi babies of course.

Noted that they credit Fox and Lampert for creating the Flash and Kanigher and and Infantino for creating Barry Allen . I wonder if this will happen for Green Lantern, too?

What did they do for the 2011 one?

According to IMDb, the comics creators were uncredited there.

Creator credits in comics can be weird. For instance, the Young Justice animated series credits Marv Wolfman and George Perez for creating Nightwing, even though he's Dick Grayson, a character created by Bill Finger, Bob Kane, and Jerry Robinson. And the Nightwing alias was introduced by Edmond Hamilton and Curt Swan for stories where Superman & Jimmy cosplayed as a Kryptonian Batman & Robin in the bottle city of Kandor.

I think Miller was his one big misfire and a lot of that has to do with the fact that his "Barry" is really more "Wally," at least in terms of how the characters were portrayed during most of my comics reading life.

I'm also not in love with Mamoa's Aquaman but that's more because I really, really, wanted him as Lobo.

Was thinking about seeing it this week but seeing how bad it is doing in theaters it will probably be available for digital purchase in a few weeks so I will wait and watch it at home.

Haven't been to opening night to anything since before Covid. The whole pandemic at least for me has caused me to wait until the crowds die down and watch early matinees when possible or just wait for streaming.

I haven't been inside a movie theater since Nov 2021. And I only did it twice that month. Before Nov 2021, the last time I was inside a movie theater was late Feb 2020 or early Mar 2020.
