With the movie out today I thought I would get a thread going. I’m somewhat excited for it, mainly to see Faora. She was amazing in Man of Steel and I hope she’s just as good here.

I’ll leave my thoughts about it once I’ve seen the movie in a few hours.

I miss the days when a superheroes movie was their own - as in The Flash would be about the Flash not him and 2 other heroes.

In this case if it had only been about the Flash it probably wouldn't be being released

one reviewer in Australia (news corp paywalled), basically calls it a rip off of the Marvel movies with the time travel indicated no knowledge of the Flashpoint influence/basis for the movie.

That's one problem with Marvel getting their movies out there first despite generally being decades behind in the stories.
Look at the worry from fans of people calling Darkseid a rip-off of Thanos when Justice League was released, when we know who was created first.

You make a good point but if (IF) DC knew Marvel was beating them out the gate with the storyline they probably should have considered a different storyline simply because the general public won't know which came first.

Yeah, a lot of the pre-release publicity makes this movie look like "Batman Returns Again."

On purpose. Considering this is almost the last gasp for the original DCEU group, they're hanging on the nostalgia angle to help get butts in seats. I have to admit that while I was planning to see this anyway, the Keaton Batman is a big selling point for me.

So the big secret ending at the end is George Clooney?

It was alright. You can tell that this movie has been dismantled and rebuilt multiple times. My favourite part was the beginning with the JL rescue. The baby part was rather silly but it was executed well enough.
The action wasn’t as impressive as we’ve seen in other movies. They probably should have got Snyder to help out there. I feel that would have helped the final fight.
The multiverse showcase was fine but we have seen that so many times in other shows recently. I also don’t get why they kept showing alternate Batmen and Supermen but not the Flash. The one we saw was Jay and he wasnt even one from the TV show.
Also, where was Oliver during all of this? He’s supposed to be in charge of the multiverse. He should have helped.

Just alright? Eh. Was leaning towards seeing this on the big screen, but a quick scan of review snippets on RT is a bit underwhelming. Think I'll wait.

So seriously, what did Cavil do to piss off WB? Batfleck was here, so was Wonder Woman and Aquaman, and even a CGI version of Reeves and Cage’s Supermen but not him?
    I just don’t get it.

Didn't all of this multiverse stuff start with Arrowverse?

The multiverse stuff has been a staple of DC comics since the 60’s. It has always been more of a DC thing than Marvel. Things like MC2, Ultimate and Spider-Verse came years later there

Yep, there's that journalistic dedication to research that would have taken all of 2 seconds. Not surprised at all.

Yes, because that's what happened. At this point, there's enough cut scenes and characters to release full alternate versions for home media.

Well, if Snyder was brought in, they would have been shortsighted to only have him help with action scenes.

You have to remember that the producers of this film were not operating under the idea that their intended audience is even familiar with TV versions of certain ideas. As it stands, the cameos fall into that same category, as some during the screening were "er--what"-ing said cameos. Others wrote it off as stunt cameos.

That "multiverse" is not recognized in the previously released DCEU movies.

I know the movie folks look down on the TV stuff and don’t recognise them but the DCEU is part of the ArrowVerse there. Barry even gets the name, “the Flash” from his TV counterpart.

I just think it would have been a nice Easter egg for us comic fans.

Wow. Between that poster and the steelbook, that's some impressively terrible promo art. Are we sure these aren't fan made?

Hang on; so they cast Teddy Sears to play Jay Garrick, who he played (kind of) on the TV series but couldn't even bother to make a crappy CGI Grant Gustin?
