^^^^Once again, I think that's going to happen once the big questions are revealed. I think that at the end of the show, there will a ton of dots that will be connected and moments where I'll slap my head and think "So that's why...". Can't wait.
Do you really think so? Do you think that there are any "big answers" that could/will connect all the dots?
I can't imagine any one answer to any of the big question that would suddenly connect all the dots. Not unless it's something crazy like the MIB is Satan, Jacob is God and the Island is Heaven/the Garden of Eden/etc... And Jacob as "God" is looking for someone worthy enough to take his place, and Satan just wants to escape and run amok on across the earth.
For the most part I think it will be small answers to individual questions.
"What's the Deal with Jacob and the MIB?" -- Two long ago arrivals who came or were brought to the Island. MIB was seduced by the power, Jacob fought to protect the Island from the MIB and any who would use the "power" for evil. Now they are trapped in a "game" with rules they don't even understand. MIB can't kill Jacob directly, MIB can't leave the Island unless he gets rid of Jacob and the other candidates.
"Why are there on the Island?" -- Jacob manipulated events to bring them there to find a replacement.
"How did Jacob do that?" -- He's been alive for thousands of years and has mystical powers to alter fate, but not free will. He can "arrange" for people to come to the island, but can't make them stay, or act nice or choose to take his place. They have to make that choice themselves.
"Who is the MIB?" -- Some evil person who also ended up on the island with Jacob a long time ago, he tried to gain/use the Island's power but got stuck/trapped there by the "rules" of the Island (or by Jacob). Has to "finish the game" to escape the Island.
"What is the Black Smoke" -- The MIB died a long time ago, but is still on the island. His "ghost"/"life-force" can create the Smoke Monster and other ghosts. He uses these forms to try and manipulate other people on the Island to his own end and help make his escape possible.
"What's with Ben & Widmore" -- Both are puppets of the MIB and Jacob, fighting a war amongst themselves over who they believe should be Jacob's successor and control the Island.
"What is the Island?" -- This is the big one. It could be a mystical land, a'la Atlantis that has remained hidden from the real world for centuries, it could be "The Garden of Eden" where God first created man, etc... But whatever it is, I doubt it will be fully explained more then that.
That's kind of how I think the answers will come out. I can't see there being one big, slap your head because suddenly everything falls into place, answer. It's not the "Sixth Sense", I doubt there will be a big twist that will suddenly make everything make sense. Unless they go with the original ideas that the did all die in the crash and are in purgatory fighting to get out, or that it is a dream, or something stupid like that.
