That makes sense. No reason to censor themselves after the fact. Especially for something so minor.

I'm curious about what the alternate cut was made for. Broadcast TV? Airplanes? Foreign markets? Just in case of any of those options becoming relevant, and it was easier to do it while making the episodes than after the fact?

I first watched Kingsman on a Qatar flight.

I was shocked the next time I watched it, the church scene had been almost entirely cut from Qatar’s version for example.

I doubt it would have been for US broadcast TV, they show stuff at that level all the time.

Curious choice. I have no loyalty to Batroc so I'm surprised they would bother keeping him alive. But then I was surprised he returned for this show. I know he's a bigger deal in the comics but thus far he's nothing more than a thug to me.

He's just a thug in the comics as well, just a very entertaining one.

In the updated version of the scene, Sharon says "maclunky" before firing.

Maybe he was secretly working for her and that was a contingency to get him "safe".... i would need to re-watch those scenes...

There doesn't need to be: he's an established, cast low level baddie they can use when they need one.

Personally, I've really dug both appearances by Batroc, so the more the merrier. He's simply a cool, low level bad guy.
