Spoilers The Expanse Season 5

Ty Franck and Daniel Abraham have divided their time between working on the The Expanse novels and simultaneously serving as full-time members of the The Expanse television series' writing staff, so it's completely understandable that there have delays in releasing the former.

I believe virtually every writer, artist, and creative I’ve talked to would respond, with bitter experience, “Yeah, I would’ve thought that, too.” The psychological impacts of the crisis can and do far outweigh the “No more stuff pulling you away from your desk” factor. Which has led to an element of productivity guilt, which doesn’t help anything get done.
Hell, I found when I was stuck at home during the lockdowns that I was getting far less reading done done a day than I typically do in normal times. Granted, I have a job I was still working and was in fact even busier during the spring than I typically am, but my days off didn't really benefit from being stuck at home with more time on my hands to get reading done than usual.

The damnedest thing is, there are days off during normal times when I'm only out of the house for an hour and a half but that does wonders compared to days I don't leave the house at all.

Just finished the first 3 episodes. I enjoyed them very much. Different scenario this time round with all the main characters being separated with their own separate stories. Amos is still the most entertaining character. I liked that he thought Chrisjen was the “queen of Earth”. He simply has no interest in anything besides him and his close friends.
Naomi must have had that kid very young. He looks like he’s 18 or over and the actress is only 32. I don’t recall if she said what age she was when she had him. She may be playing her older but I don’t see her being older than 35.
Poor Earth. Is that like the third time on this show it’s been attacked? Can’t they attack Mars or something?

Ditto that. I deal with it by going for bike rides and having conversations with people I meet. Masks notwithstanding, you can still connect with people if you want. And you'll be surprised at the number of people who are excited to have a conversation. They need it as much as we do.

An amazing opening to the season, such wonderful slow dread across the three episodes!

Also
Bull!!!! And a Micheo.

Lots to digest but really really wonderful to have this show back.

Setting all the chess pieces in place..........shit will hit the fan next week.

I've been waiting ever since I read Nemesis Games for that scene...........I think my favorite Amos live of the whole book series is his
Why not BOTH live to Chrisjen

Watched all three episodes twice now. So much goodness. Bring on next week. Was trying to work which language that sign is in at the end.

Heh, the Tycho Station mechanic working on the Rocinante is Tilly's spore friend from season 2 of Disco.

I know he has a different name in the show, but does anyone else get the impression the corrupt Martian Admiral Alex is investigating is filling the same role as Admiral Duarte from the novels?

The corrupt admiral (Sauvaterre) and his aide (Babbage) actually are book characters!

They feature at the end of Nemesis Games on the Donnager-class ship, Barkeith, that vanishes along with its fleet in the Ring Gate to Laconia

Huh, I seem to have forgotten about that. Still, I guess I am right in that they do seem to be connected to the storyline I referenced, which I assumed the minute Lt. Babbage said she was shipping out, Alex said "See you when you get back" and her reaction was very cagey.

They are doing a really good build up with that story but pity it is gonna go nowhere now with the cancellation

Which character was she in the show? the engineer ?

No way is that enough time to do the story in the books.

The writing staff of the show has already demonstrated a knack for coherently condensing entire books from the series into 10-episode seasons.

Condensing the stories from Books 7 and 8 into a single season therefore really wouldn't be as impossible as you seem to think it would be.

Having said that, however, it sounds as if Season 6 will focus solely on the story from Book 6, Babylon's Ashes, and leave the door open for Alcon Entertainment to immediately continue the show with new distribution partners or eventually revive it in the future.

What a great start these 3 episodes of season 5 were. Looking forward to more.

Anyone know why there is literally no Frankie Adams (Bobbie Draper) interview or publicity for the season 5?
I've seen or read multiple other cast & crew interviews and all, but not a peep from her.
