Got an infographic here that takes a look at how the Klingon appearance has evolved over the years. Includes original series, next gen and discovery klingons.

The Disco Klingon looks more Klingon in that drawing than they do on the show.

There are a lot more variations. They even changed from (TOS) movie to (TOS) movie. Compare the TMP Klingon Captain, Klaa and Chang. Even more variations with the female Klingons (Valkris, Vixis, Azetbur). They look different from the regular TNG Klingons we’re used to.

Which is why I didn't have a problem with the Discovery Klingons initially. Heck we should probably see an Andorian that is Klingon simply because that individual has Klingon Empire citizenship. But after seeing them actually on the show I changed my mind on the Disco Klingons.

The DSC Klingons have ridged necks too.

The Kelvin Klingons have wispy pointed ears.
