The Event Season 1.5 *Spoilers*

Another cancelled show where I wanted to see more. Having another planet in the sky was quite a game changer and I wanted to see where they were going to go with it and how it would have affected life on Earth. Reminds me of that new sci fi film Another Earth.

OK I done did it now. I finished the season, well series finale of The Event.

Not to give anything away, but all I gotta say is why couldn't the ending of this show have been the actual premise of the show the whole time? I would have much rather watched that show or at least wouldn't have minded a season 2 because as we all know this show wreaked of bad writing, over convoluted plot points, dislikable characters and cliches galore. Although flaws aside, could be improved on. Shades of the last season of Earth: The Final Conflict.

i actually really liked Jason Ritter as Sean. He was believable as both a guy who loved his woman, but also as a computer nerd turned hero.

i thought Sofia's character was interesting & well played -- just the writing maybe made the jump to "evil" too sudden.

Somehow, they weren't able to get across how the situation had become desperate. Maybe have some dialogue how Sofia thought their planethad a couple of centuries left, and gained some compassion for humans....but when she got the news form Thomas, they maybe could have had a "flashback" or something to the homeworld, to show how she loved her own planet as well.

i know they were trying to keep us guessing as to who Sofia's people were (aliens? Humans from the future? ), that it took too long for us to get the truth (i.e. the hints were bunched up in the second half).

i definitely would be interested in The Event were in another video media/channel.

The finale itslf was by-the-book action thriller fomula and very dull. And it is astonishing that the show had 23 episodes to enlighten us on the aliens and Dempsey and we know as little as we did before the show started. And the crappy writers couldn't even cough up a few answers in the finale and the writers knew that renewal was not likely--but no they had Simon get cut off before spilling them. Boo.

The only intriguing part of the episode was the other planet and the President's wife confirming she is an alien.

The show was crap.

The Event is the aliens ascend and the humans die?

Did they get the Stargate writers and the 24 writers to "write" this shit?

Wait... shit has a purpose sometimes, this show is worse than shit.

Would have been more interesting to see that play out than a season long tease of the title of the show, in my opinion. This show was on par with Surface on the shit-o-meter.

So, the aliens' plan all along was to bring their entire planet to Earth's vicinity? Didn't they know that doing something like that will simply make both planets uninhabitable and kill everyone? Aren't they supposed to be advanced enough to know something about gravity?

^It would have been awesome to watch the moon get sucked into the new planet then the whole kit and kaboodle crash into earth.

So...

The first lady is an alien after all. It fit until the President went into the coma- if she is with Sophia, why give him the cure- if she is anti-Sophia, shouldnt she have tried to find a way to help him or contact Sophia/threaten her?

Quite the "shock" that lelia was pregnant huh- didnt see that one coming

Overall very mediocre but would like to have seen what happens next

The first lady didn't know Sophia was behind the poisoning until the antidote was already on it's way.

We've got three projects right now that involve other planets in the sky. There's The Event, Another Earth and Melancholia...

2 art house flicks and 1 failed network show. Oh yeah don't forget the Smallville finale w/ Apokalipse.

There should at least be 1 summer popcorn flick where the other planet is actually a living planet wants to devour ours.

Forget "the event" killing humans! Shouldn't the appearance of an entire planet in the sky (which looked pretty next to the moon btw) cause instant havoc with Earth's gravity, tides, etc.?
