The European Football Season 15/16

There is a hell of a lot going on here recently.

Looking forward for todays CL matches to write something more constructive. :vulcan:

you coming in to rescue her

Your notion that Em needs "rescuing" is presumably more of that well-established delightfulness you keep telling us about. Do go on, please. :techman: Don't let me keep you from digging that hole.

(At any rate, to the original point: of course Premier League football is overrated and of course her observation was correct and of course you know this and cannot plausibly object to it. That's why all you have to serve up in response is... well, nothing really. Right? You basically have nothing. So please, tell me again what a delight you are. Are you a delight? Anyone else you'd like to accuse of "vileness"? Any other distractions we can help you with? I'm here for you, man.)

I thought we were all having fun? wasn't that the case. You know i love you.

Remember when it was just us?

More the merrier, i say.

I must admit I am a stunted American, but when I watch the Premier League I don't recall seeing all that many English players - at least not English players that are considered "stars." The majority of the high-profile players are from other countries, and if I am not mistaken, doesn't the Premier league take a break to accommodate all the players leaving to play for their national team?

There's a big number of English players but the influx of foreigners has been a problem. This is why they introduced the home-grown quota of eight players. Sadly, all that's done is encourge bigger fees for English talent (re Sterling).

I watched a match on Saturday, and they were talking about how Man U paid 45 million for the rights to a young player who previously played for Monaco... and that they could end up paying as much as 90 million if certain conditions were met. That's insane.

Anthony Martial. That was insane. A panic buy from Van Ghaal because the transfer window was closing. He might turn out to be brilliant but he might turn out to be a total disaster.

Why of course we are.

I certainly am, I adore irony.

Threesome?

I think all European leagues take a break for the Euro 2016 qualifiers if that's what you mean. The German league did as well.

I'm not sure - I just heard the announcers say that the players were back from their "international break".

I watched the first game with Anthony Martial. He didn't play until the 71st minute and by then the game was well in hand, so its hard to say much other than I think he may have had two or three touches in the time he played.

Count Zero is right, there is a break in all the leagues for qualifications (or boring friendlies :( ).
The only competition that doesn't have a break (I think) is the CAN (Africa Cup).

Didn't know that this thread could be entertaining in it's way

Flicking through the games. Caught some Roma Vs Barcelona and Florenzi just scored an unbelievable goal for Roma. 1- 1 now.

Switchin' between Olympiakos vs Bayern and Under the Dome. Haven't missed anything on either side.

I watched some Bundesliga over the weekend: Bayern Munich vs. FC Augsburg. Not a bad match - Augsburg was clearly overmatched but they played tough and never let Bayern completely overwhelm them.

And to be fair the referee ended up being on Bayern's side.

Unable to edit my last post...... :sigh:

penalty, Müller scored again, 3:0, that's it

Summary

Olympiakos vs Bayern 0:3
