The End of an Era: Discontinued products, services, and defunct companies

Not a discontinued product, but this seems like a good enough thread:

M&M's is dropping artificial dyes for the candy shell colorations, which could mean no blue or brown colored shells. There are alternative natural dyes, but whether its cost effective or scalable to mass production, time will tell when Mars does the calculations and sources ingredients.

I still have Trillian, which was a great app for unifying most/all of those, and even the standalone ICQ app...but nobody I know is still active on those that I know of, so they're basically unused by me too. I kind of miss them.

Yeah, I remember Trillian. It was a pretty great app for a while, although it suffered a similar fate of many apps, which is the tendency for them to get bloated featurewise.

I'm only surprised it took this long to do it. In Canada, our Smarties ( the candy coated M&M-like candies, not the American chalk-like candies) changed in 2009, some Countries even as far back as 2006.

This could give some idea of what the new M&M colours might look like.
