First Sony, now Panasonic. Now the old Homer Simpson quote, "I know a genuine Panaphonics when I see it. And look -- there's a Magnetbox and a Sorny!" is almost completely outdated.

I was thinking about Skype today. It was discontinued well over a year ago. I used to talk to someone on there in years past but it is gone, forever lost.
I'll never understand how a company like Microsoft can merge with one of the major players in the industry, kill off their own MSN Messenger, than promptly not do anything with Skype such as developing it further until they discontinued it.
Now Pizza the hut can wear a pizza hat.
This is yet another reason why I strongly dislike Microsoft. Everything they touch gets worse.
I would agree. The investments they make tend to have not much to show for them, and you even see that on the XBox side of things. And some of Microsoft's hardware they've made have felt horribly out of touch.
They ruined Minecraft in my opinion. As soon as Microsoft bought the game, the game was effectively killed for me.
On Minecraft, I can't actually say I blame them, but yes I know what you mean. Minecraft used to cater to a wide variety of ages before being bought by Microsoft. After being bought, Microsoft had started to steer it towards young kids and merchandising the hell out of it. On that front, I think they've been very successful, but the downside is that I think they pushed away what I would consider hardcore users that could effectively program things via Minecraft.

I still have Trillian, which was a great app for unifying most/all of those, and even the standalone ICQ app...but nobody I know is still active on those that I know of, so they're basically unused by me too. I kind of miss them.
