stop me if you think im crazy, but ive been wondering if when Doctor Who hits 50 the Royal Mint should put out a specail 50p coin to celebrate Doctor Who, like some of the other 50p coins out there (Scouts, NHS, VotesforWomen)

That would be awesome! And come 2013, I'll hopefully be working in that general area (read: Europe) and I'll actually be able to get hold of one.

oh yes Europe that is a good point, by 2013 we could have the Euro. Meanwhile the special issue 50ps coins you dont get many of them, they seem to drop out of circulation very quickly.

I agree its unlikely we will have it in 2013, just pointing out that it COULD happen.

Meanwhile this 50p coin is really not going to stay in circulation, not only will coin collectors keep it, but Doctor Who fans will as well.

I don't know, I managed to get 50p coins of different varieties while I was there. I always liked them better than the pound coins I collected because when I got home, I didn't feel like I wasted 2 bucks a coin.

Cool pic, I loved the Ten doctors one a few years back, if i remember.

Smith seems to fit in really well, he looks kinda like an imalgamation of all the doctors, but at the same time, completely new and fresh.
