the dumb questions you were afraid to ask thread

I though it said somewhere where the Ent-D's bathrooms are. Maybe in a tech manual or something?

The show hosted by Jonathan Frakes where they showed a best of the TNG (right before they aired the finale) pointed out where the bathroom was.

No wonder they stopped using the turbolift that went straight to the Battle Bridge....

yeah, but you guys are talking about the D, right? I asked about 1701. That is, no frigging A, B, C, or D. where was the loo in that one?

How about the hairstyles of Vulcan women. They all had the Vulcan short in Enterprise and the TNG/DS9/Voy era. But in the TOS era they (and their Romulan counterparts) all had long hair and the occasional up-do. What's up with that?

Bye the way, what the hell is it with everyone in trek calling the restroom a fresher??? Is it taboo to say restroom or bathroom in the 24th century???

You mean "restroom" and "bathroom" aren't tiptoeing around a taboo? :)

The correct naval term for the place to urinate and defecate (that is, piss and shit) is "head", derived in part from the fact that it used to be a series of holes at the bow, around where the ships have their figureheads - a part of the ship that nicely overhangs the sea.

I have never heard anybody say "fresher" (or "'fresher", for "refresher" or whatever) in aired Trek. Yes, some novels use that expression, but IIRC usually in the sense of shower or bath. Many onscreen characters take baths in bathrooms, of course...
