50 years ago today cyclone Tracy hit Darwin.

I vaguely remember the news footage of the time

I was only a few months old when it happened. Saw a bit of TV about it last night.

And 35 years ago today, Newcastle was hit by the earthquake. Main reason I remember is that's the day my second child was born in a hospital there. I thought a plane had flown into the side of the building. Strange days then, strange days now.

Now that you’re all in 2025, can you give us laggards still kicking around in 2024 a heads-up as to whether ‘25 is any better of a year compared to what we’ve been experiencing lately?

So far haven't noticed any difference. That being said - I feel like it's 8am was too early to wake up. Especially considering I had some problems falling asleep. So I am going back to bed for another hour or so.

Hey, Melbournites! I was trying to find out if there's a Taco Bell near me, and found out there's a chain in Melbourne/Vic called Taco Bill. They don't seem to be beyond Vic borders. Are they any good? Just curious.

Never heard of them - Taco Bill. *Googles* The only one in NSW is in Albany. Never been to them before. Seem to be none in the area of where I am Melbourne. Might try some of it next time I am in the city.

Haven't been in many years but they were tasty and cheap with lots of specials. I don't know if that is still the case.

We do have Taco Bell as well which apparently is 10x healthier than the American version (same company). I'm partial to the bean burritos. Good prices, simple food.
