For a while, we didn't have a TV, so the radio was on a lot, especially the ABC. One of my favourite programmes was Late Night Live (LNL), presented by Philip Adams (and it's repeat the next day, Last Night's Late Night Live (LNLNL)). You've seen Rush Limbaugh or Stan Zemanek or Alan Jones? Adams was about as far away from them as you could get; erudite, informed, intellectual, with a huge range of guests from both sides of the spectrum but always witty and informed, there was never shouty arguments or bad behaviour. You went away smarter.
He's just retired, so there doing a best of, for at least 2 weeks on the radio (Mon-Thurs, 3pm), plus available on podcasts. Any episode of the show is worth listening to, Good stuff while doing housework or driving. Check it out.
David Marr is taking over. He's pretty good too.
Shaun Micallef is coming back to TV with a new show, presumably in time for the US destruction. Yay!
Shaun Micallef's Eve of Destruction!
I'm not cocky at all. If I have to go to hell, I'd rather do it in Mr Micallef's company.
This is really close to where I used to live, so I'll have to go and check it out next time I'm down there.
