The Down Under Lounge

The ABC WILL NOT be broadcasting the new series of Dr Who. Or possibly the old ones either (not sure).

Well, shit.

I've watched Who on the ABC since I was a tiny kid. And we don't have Disney+.

Shit. And shit again.

It isn’t just the ABC that loses Doctor Who. It is be shown on the BBC in the UK but everywhere else it will be Disney+.
My son subscribes to Disney+ so I will still be able to see it. However my best friend doesn’t even have the internet, at home she relies solely on Free to Air TV. She is very annoyed at the news because she has been a Who fan for more than 50 years.
I told her she could watch it when she visits me but she said no as she is very anti-Disney.

My old home town was Bathurst NSW. It and surrounding towns (Lithgow and Oberon) have no gas (not the petrol type). Many homes rely on it for heating and cooking, as well as many businesses. The town used to have its own gasworks but no, it has to be piped in now, as a cost saver or some bullshit. A large part of the population does have it back, I understand, but for Lithgow and Oberon it could be weeks.

Hoping for a Dictator Dan win!

And guy gets beaten for the second time. wonder if the libs will go three times a loser with him.

/*edit*/

i see he's fallen on his sword and the libs need to find a new leader.

And unless andrews really does screw the pooch in the next term, labor might get a 4th term in 2026 because they still have massive margin over the libs.

Incredibly disappointed the ACT DPP has dropped the Bruce Lehrmann case. Yes, Ms Higgins' mental health comes first, but they should have taken her evidence and statements and put them on a backburner. Once again the evil shits from the LNP pressure someone to breaking point to disguise their disgusting actions.

unless the person is permanent unavailble to testify (dead or medically incapable) the defendant has the right under the law to face their accuser so if Brittany Higgins can't go through with, the DPP has no option but to drop the case.

It's not the first time that this has happened and it won't be the last.

Yeah saw that. It is what it is which is a shame but what can you do? Now watch as all the critics jump out of the woodwork and go after her over this.

I'm infuriated that Lehrmann is going to sue as well.

What the heck can he sue for?

What about people like Lisa Wilkinson who thought they'd make good publicity off this girl?
I'm not sure about that woman's motives in this mess being 100% pure.

Received an email from Medibank yesterday admitting that my data is on the dark web. It has been almost 2 months since they were hacked so why has it taken so long for them to admit that my info was among what was hacked? I know that some other people were informed three weeks ago.
Last night I signed up for the class action against Medibank.

Do you know how many people now are in the class action?

No idea, At the moment people are only registering an interest to be included in a class action. The class action is only at the investigation stage, but I have more confidence that the law firm will keep us up to date than I have confidence that Medibank will.

Medibank rates are due to rise by 3% in January. You think that they would defer that rise given that their customers are so angry over this. Despite the breach the big knobs recently got large bonuses.
