The Down Under Lounge

Perrotet: I'm willing to bet that the gambling lobby is behind this (see what I did there?)

There's vague reports ClubsNSW is pouring in money to shore up their position, after the FriendlyJordies/Troy Stoltz revelations about money laundering; they're looking pretty nervous, and backing David Elliott to 'look after them'.

Stupid thing to do, being a cosplay Nazi, but the SS suits were made IRL by Hugo Boss, soooo...

Pell: if Abbott was still PM, we would be having a national funeral.

And Howard, had this happened under Howard same thing.

Wasn't it a Liberal party member who leaked this stuff about the Premier?

David Elliott, Transport Minister. Suspect he's strongly hacked by ClubsNSW. You didn't read all my post, did you?

As far as I can gather, Elliott threatened Perrotet, and Dom decided to get out in front of it. This makes Elliott look bad.

Of course they did, that is what they do. They imagine it'll sell papers/rate like crazy.

I mean who hasn't done stupid shit when they were 21, I think a lot of people have done the whole nazi cosplay thing. What if you had to wear that for a play or such, we had a play of "The yellow star" at church once about the holocaust and some people had to wear a uniform on stage.

I think one of the worst statement of all came in an earlier sitting when Jason McNamara (the former General Manager, Integrity and Information Group, Service Australia) 1) blamed Australians of being too uneducated to understand income averaging and 2) stated that if people had worked normal hours at a normal paying job and normal wages they would not have had a problem.

The method of income averaging they ended up using was illegal, something he should have understood.
He seems to be oblivious to the casualisation of the Australian workforce.

Oblivious sums up the previous Morrison Government and all its ministers........

Has anyone been following the Robodebt Royal Commission?
Only what I see on the news and the 7:30 Rpt but I pay close attention, as they tried to hit me up with one of those. All those public servants shrugging and saying "wasn't my job" and pointing in all directions, classic cases of one hand being clueless about the other, And I believe it was an attitude fostered right at the top. The PubServ has a tendency towards conservatism anyway, so this just gave them license. Pretty poor show all round, and Labor isn't rectifying it fast enough.
