You know what really gets to me about Morrison is how easy would it be for him to actually put in some effort and show he is taking his paid for a lifetime job seriously as a servant to the country. How long does he have the job for, 3 or 4 years before some other coup. How about a little effort here. Don't go on an overseas holiday, spend your time and money in Australia and be available if there is a crisis. Don't have fancy NYE events, go somewhere and spend the night volunteering for fireys. Be a fucking example, do service not pomp. BEHAVE in a way that brings you respect, that will do more for your stupid party and self than anything.

What really shits me off is that even Howard was able to organize payments for volunteers and he was a tightarse a conservative as they come yet this simple act is beyond the grasp of Morrison.

Don't show your contempt by having parliament sitting for as short a time as possible in order to avoid scrutiny of your actions.

Yeah it's bloody horrible what is going on. Yesterday the sun was red due to all the smoke from the Kangaroo island fire and it had drifted as far as northern Adelaide. It was horrible.
I can only imagine the pain and distress people in QLD, and NSW are feeling right now and where it seems like nearly half the country is on fire. We've had years and years to prepare for all this and every government since I was a kid seemed to do little to nothing.
As a kid in primary school we were taught in geography that Australia was one of the hottest and driest continents on Earth, so howcome that message has never filtered down to future generations to today?
Anyway I just want to send some well wishes to everyone.

I live in a reasonably safe suburb, as far as Hobart goes. The problem with Hobart is that it is situated between the river and the hills/mountain meaning that many suburbs are close to the bush. I live in Howrah and the nearest bush to me is the Waverley Flora Park which is not a very large tract of bush and is well maintained by my local council. It has burned in the past but not enough to cause serious problems.
My house is in the area of the red dot is on this map. As you see I am quite close to the beach. The bushland at the top is the Meehan Ranges. If that burns it is a danger to the suburbs surrounding it.
Hey unrelated question Miss Chicken but Tassie, does it have roads that would let you go right around the island in one trip?
This is about the best you can do when going around Tasmania. You have to skip the south-west. You can go a little beyond Smithton on the northwest coast (to Woolworth and Redpa) and you can go further south than Hobart (to Cockle Creek which is about 150 south of Hobart) but for each of trips you would have to retrace your steps.

Ah...... OK. It's deceptively large area for a small island. I used to have friends who lived in Burnie then moved to Victoria.
Saw your PM's "encouraging" trip to the devastated towns, people were so "happy" to see him.. "fuckwit" was an often heard word from these "happy" people and also firemen seemed to have an "awesome" time meeting that "leader" of yours..
