The Down Under Lounge

The chap who ripped the head off a kookaburra at a busy pub got the maximum fine possible. $2500. Doesn't make up for the trauma for the other customers, including kids. Hopefully someone can take him to court in a civil case for that.

That kind of penalty is terrible. A fine some people would think of that as "big deal" some jail time would be more appropriate

I don't care what he believes in his religion, until he tells me, or anyone else, how to live. He can piss off.

The idea that bushfires, drought, any natural disaster is caused by gay marriage, abortion etc.. is something you could hear from the pulpit any Sunday of the year. I know Folau is in the news for it because it makes a good headline but it's actually quite a mainstream fundamentalist belief.

And it's stupid to even believe any of that. The fact people do saddens me.

Also crackpot ideas like the Sun's magnetic fields causing bushfires. Barnaby Joyce said that one.

I think (partly) wants some attention. I've watching some friends talking about it today on facebook. I haven't seen what my uncle has said, who thinks he is a good bloke has said. Maybe I should follow him again, but he is a nut like Folau.

On the boxing - nope.

I wonder how he explains away all the fires that occured before same sex marriage and abortion were legal.
Indeed. Or all the many, many droughts in this country's history.

The notion that the current drought started on 9 December 2017 is imbecilic - to put it as politely as possible. To even imagine there's any link whatever between droughts and bushfires and said legislation is cretinous in the extreme. As a Christian (as opposed to whatever he is) and as someone grappling with the devastation drought (God forbid fires as well) is inflicting on my part of the country - and so much of the nation - at the present time, I find Folau's mindless crap beyond offensive - again, to put it ridiculously politely.

It would be good if the media would simply ignore Folau and his (and his family's) moronic, fundamentalist misinterpretation of the Old Testament. Unfortunately, that's about as likely as the rain we so desperately need falling any time soon.

I blame 9/11 for this. If that hadn't happened, society would still be open and friendly. Racism would be less blatant, and so on. Thanks, Obama Osama.

I blame the LNP and its cronies wanting to turn Australia into China Lite.

Blame Dutton too because he has a boner for that kind of thing.

Today Tonight has been officially axed.

Proof of a God well not really.

A mix of China Lite and Trumpmerica.

Today Tonight has been officially axed.
No, I would accept that as proof of a god. What a shit show it became. Fat kids on miracle diets being ripped off by shonky builders used by mad neighbours, moving in for a close up of someone crying.

Today Tonight has been dead in the eastern states since 2014. The NSW version was the first to go, in 2002, being combined with Victoria and a year later, Queensland.
