Wow just we knew they hated the ABC but yeah
They are getting roasted alive on Twitter for this idea - and so they should. Thankfully it will never past the senate. Plus key people in the parliament are against the idea.

It was the number 1 or 2 trend earlier in the day. Just search for "Liberal Party" - now it isn't in the top 10.
the media barons don't what the ABC privatised - they want it gone completely. Last thing they want is another media player compeiting for the advertising dollar (especially when it has programs that match or even out-rate whats on the commercial networks).
People in the rural ares wouldn't want it either - they're already seeing what the commercial media outlets are doing with their tv and radio coverage.
Fortunately for the govt this policy isn't binding on the parliamentary party the way is for ALP policy because it would be electoral suicide. It's bad enough the ALP now has some new material it can use to attack purposes without it being a policy.
Unfortunately for the libs it's also showing the ascendancy of the hard right of the party which isn't good news from the. Might stop the leeching of voters to gone nation and bernadi's nutjobs but it's going to entice moderates and independents.

So I bought Vegemite Bagels at Coles, by Abes the same people that make the vegemite crisps. They are very dense, infused with vegemite and some vaguely cheesey stuff on the top.. they are AMAZING OMG THEY ARE SO GOOD. I could literally eat a pack a day. I highly recommend them before they disappear. I just ate them with butter toasted.
