The Down Under Lounge

Oh I just mean what might have happened that it took a month for it to come out, and the timing seems suspicious because end of the year and all. People won't focus too much about it.

Many fires burning in the north of Tasmania, we are getting the smoke from them down here in Hobart. My asthma has been affected.

Bushfires raging through North-West Tasmania while flooding occurring down the East Coast of the state.

Shitloads happening right now. Hip deep in writing projects. Have a car of my own, my own midlife crisis escape vehicle. May be moving soon, if I can find a place. Also a grandad again, which is cool.

Currently listening to 2 albums created by 2 different mates. May have to do something myself soon in that area. And actually no net here, no landline at all, so coming to you via wireless dongle. How long will it be off? Indefinite. 85 homes affected. Thanks, Telstra.

Aside from that, life continues its tedious ways.

&U? Apologies for the flyby.

Yeah Telstra have been having a ton of outages across the nation. Last month they had the hide to blame one tech who probably lost his job through no actual fault of his own.

Hi peeps, things have been quiet in here.

My life hasn't been smooth of late, hence no posting. Recently lost a beloved pet that died in my arms, and a bunch of other not good things that I'll talk about some other time.

But things... continue.

Sorry to hear about the death of your pet :(

Nothing much is happening in my life except for me becoming more and more disgusted with Australian politics each day.

I saw a meme the other day which showed that one of Malcolm ties cost more than an unemployed person gets in benefits in a week.

Yeah and if you are Westpac or the PM you can hide money in the Caymans and it's all legal ......... It's not tax dodging at all.

I have a book of political cartoons by Patrick Cook, called 'Fraser Country'. It's stunning how often the events of 40 years ago are being repeated, almost word for word. Mal (Fraser/Turnbull) tried to persuade the state to take over some of the tax burden, and called it New Federalism. The states weren't having a bar of it and shot it down almost immediately. Fascinating. I'll post some more tidbits when I bring it home.
