In other news, it was the Melbourne Cup today, a Tuesday of state sponsored public holiday drinking and all of a sudden noticing that horses exist.
To the Melbourne Cup! I enjoyed my beer out in the sunshine in in front of a very big screen of the race.

It is my council's annual cleanup day and I have put 5 items out
Small wicker chair - gone about 15 minutes after I put it out
Small TV - gone in about 40 minutes (they will be pleased to find out it works)
Another TV minus a cord - still there
Large mushroom garden ornament - went in under 10 minutes
Ceramic pot - went in about 45 minutes

There was a coffee table on the footpath around the corner from end of my street and in 30 minutes it had been snapped up. I've seen sofas and stuff just snapped up in a hurry too.
My items were taken by 4 different scavengers, all of them got out of nice cars.
The second TV hasn't been taken, it will probably be there when the council truck come tomorrow.

If it were a flat screen people would take it. Hell if I lived close I might have snapped it for parts.
Lovely day down here, 30C. I will be going for a walk along the beach at about 5.30.

But have you exprienced real cold over a long period of time? Snow's fun at first then it becomes a pain.
And the ice? well that stuff is deadly.

Seems warmer than yesterday. Still cold. Melbourne weather is weird at the moment.
Isn't there a saying that in Melbourne if you stand still for 5 minutes the weather might change?
I cannot tell you the amount of times I have been browsing here (well the Doctor Who forum mainly), and I see a good post and automatically head for a like button only for there not to be one!
Now I know they exists on other bulletin boards I frequent!

I dunno, I guess we both had a shared similar history (along with Utopian Planitia (who later became Dark Lord)) 12-13 years ago and I felt a nice comradery
