The Down Under Lounge

...which are going to be there regardless of what the clock says. So why change? No daylight is being "saved". It's an exercise in complete and utter stupidity.

100% agreed. This is why I am glad to live in the only state in the US that told them to take this DST idea and shove it up their you know what.

On the downside, we also told them what they could do with the Martin Luther King holiday....

Glory Glory to South Sydney ... awesome Grand Final. I said before the finals started ... that the bunnies would win.

I don't follow football, but the Bunnies are a sentimental favourite so yay for them.

The Wife is watching the XFactor (a show I can't stand). Some guy was murdering Roy Orbison's 'Crying'. Holy crap he was bad! And the judges stood on their desks applauding him! I'm sorry, but was fucking woeful!

ETA: just saw the costume for Miss Australia or something on the news, that was bad too. A pic later if i can find one

Couldn't care less about league if I tried and don't give a damn about Souths, but any time Canterbury lose is always a good time so no complaints there.

Stupid winter, can't believe I was at the beach in Melbourne a few weeks back.

Okay let's have summer but rain every other day. Hot AND raining, this is my favorite weather and in the last few years we have actually had this happen a few days every summer instead of the usual. The usual being.. oh is that a cloud? TEMPERATURE PLUMMETS!

Also I love humidity and no one will shame me into not loving it.

Don't worry - they are forecasting a warmer than average summer for thie 2014/2015.

Didn't say anything the humidity though.

And so far FAIL.

Well it's not Summer yet :p

Plus you'll really be in pickle if Australia worked it the way Canada does. Here they work the seasons based on the Solistices and Equinoxes.

So you'd have to wait until December 21st for Summer to begin.

As it should be. Frelling useless summer will be here to ruin everything soon enough.

It shall be interesting to see what it will be like next weekend for the convention. I think 27, I heard. Thankfully I won't have to deal with paint or masks this year. Might look for a new wig when I'm down there, but might skip the wig this year. Need to buy a new one at some stage.

eh I'm just whining, went to the beach a month ago and now the heater is on. Typical stuff.

Beach? What is this thing you speak of?

*thinks ^^ is in Melbourne

Just got back from my first trip to Melbourne. Didn't see a single real beach. Now I get why the Gold Coast is a holiday destination. Sort of - I get the attraction of the beaches. I never did see the fuss before now.

And the weather was beautiful!

To get the good beaches you have to go down the peninsula. Rye back beach is gorgeous and pretty much everything down there.

I'm a fan of urban beaches though so I'm quite pleased with what's on offer. No they are not beautiful in a beach way but there is sand, many sea critters, fishing, piers and most importantly cafes with beer right there on the sand. And you can get the tram to them.

Elim I'm hoping to go one day to Armageddon, what are you dressing as this year? Not sure which day I'll be there yet, MUST SEE HEWLETT.

Brighton Beach is gorgeous and my favourite bay beach. Though I do agree, most other beaches north of Frankston do suck.

Oh yeah Brighton has all those rock pools.

Really I just love being at a beach! Mostly I'm at South Melbourne to Port Melbourne these days.
