Not as good as part 1, if it wasn't for John Simm I wouldn't have enjoyed this episode much. I don't like 'good Missy' much either. 7.5/10

Just on the ship I do also have to wonder what knob was asleep on the Bridge that they are perched on a black hole.

It's 400 miles long and 100 miles wide. V-Ger is compact by comparison and Red Dwarf is barely a speck.

Using astronomical measurements, 400 miles is nothing.

The front of the ship was faster than than the back of the ship, but time could have still been (was almost certainly) running a million times slower at the front of the the ship compared the rest of the universe not experiencing time dilation.

By the time the Cybermen escaped the effects of the blakhole... Holy shit.

Utopia.

Sim is going to meet Jacobi.

Making each deck about 600m high, which seemed to actually match with what we saw.

As they were unable to get a lift back to the bridge as the cybermen would somehow come up with some way to stop them (and given it was about 1 minute on the bridge = 1 year in the hospital I don't buy that), how did Bill take the Doctor there?

It was obviously a trap thrown at the ship.

I'm assuming a stellar manipulator can build a black hole?

After Bill got Cyberconverted, she could have been put in a cupboard for 400 years, until she was finally needed.

1) It's not certain that Missy is the next incarnation after Simm - when he directly asked her that, she said she was "hazy on the regenerations thing" - so we know he will eventually become her, but there's space for a future showrunner to cast whgoever they feel like.

Well, the episode certainly seemed to say that Simm's Master was going to regenerate directly into Missy. He says " then regenerate into you?" and Missy says "Welcome to the sisterhood". But of course, writers can do whatever they want so if they decide later to have another Master in between Simm and Gomez, they can certainly retcon it in.

2) Missy dead. Ahahahahahahaha.... This character has been killed off in so many ways over the years (falling into the Eye Of Harmony twice, vapourised, squished by a T-Rex, stranded on an exploding planet, etc...) that there is zero chance of there not being a future incarnation after her. (and bear in mind she remembered the warning to always carry a spare demat circuit, so she could have remembered the zapping too, and took appropriate measures)

I know the actress has said that she is done with the character. Of course, lots of actors say that but change their minds later. So it is possible that we will see Missy again in a couple years. And yes, the character has always escaped impossible deaths so I am sure Missy can escape this situation too if the writers decide it. Personally, I like the theory that someone on this forum posited that the Doctor will come back to her and give her some of his regen energy to help her. But the other fan theory that she stole some of the Master's regen energy when she stabbed him and will use that to heal or regenerate is also a strong possibility.

3) if I was going to be really anal about it, in The Sound Of Drums, "prevent regeneration" was a completely separate setting/function on the Master's laser screwdriver from "kill"...

In the case of a time lord, I think it is the same thing. If Missy has been zapped so hard that she is dying and also cannot regenerate, then she would die.

I find it interesting how different people see things. on YT people have bitched about the look of the Mondas Cybermen saying it looked cheap. Considering that is just how they did look when they were seen in the 60s and that they were made today I would say they did a fantastic job recreating them.

I just find it interesting that some people considered they looked cheap.

So I'm thinking that the Mondasian Colony Ship is the same Colony Ship from Utopia that Yana was trying to fix with a food powered engine.

Babylon Four.

Either Yana jerryrigged a hand of Omega to preserve the ship (he didn't actually have a time scoop) the Colony Ship in an event horizon, and then Sim's Master took advantage of the situation knowing that the colony ship was going to the end of time, to catch a lift part of the way, or Sim's Master has always been the bugger who gave Yana that Ship, and when they finally got to Utopia, those Cybermen poured out.

...Of course then you have to wonder if the Tochlophane are anti-cyberman weapons, or hyperevolved Cybermen?

Oh it's Tochlaphane BTW LOL

I thought they were mini talking death stars of death.

He's in better shape than William Hartnell.

It would be kind cool and all the crap this Doctor has taken for his age would pale into insignificance..

"And in years to come you might find yourself revisiting a few... but just the old favorites, eh?"

Pretty much everything has been said.
I enjoyed the finale a lot.

The master's blast that supposedly killed Missy looked a lot like a Dalek blast effect.
Might explain why she could normally not regenerate from that.
