Ah, you've reminded me of something I wanted to ask. This is to anybody who might have a solution.

Is there a function that will me to outright block specific YouTube channels, in this case, those people who spew racist, homophobic (and other hatreds) type garbage? I'd like to watch people like "Mr. Tardis" (who present level-headed, earnest observations), but they are lost among the myriad of "bile filled" thumbnails on the YT home page.
Put you mouse over the suggest video description and the right 3 dots will appear - click and you'll get 3 options of which one is "don't recommend this channel".

Finally watched it and...I dunno. Villian felt a little cartoony, although they were cool.
Overall, the episode felt lacking. Gave it a 7/10

One ok episode and one complete dud episode. The Devils Chord is one of the worst episodes of Modern Who - That musical at the end was bizarre. Everything the show had from 2005 to 2017 seems to have been stripped away, Every since Capaldi left the show has just loss itself. The episodes themselves are less and less entertaining. Jodie's talents were wasted, lets not repeat it again with Ncuti.

Next episode with Moffat looks better but then again Moffat is the best era of Modern Who.
I remember the Hartnell seasons of the 60s - they had similar fourth-wall breaking moments and even a Beatles tie-in with The Chase. This season is deliberately schlocky and all the hints seem to point to it being some sort of Truman Show setup. Whether the payoff of this metajoke will be worth it remains to be seen. I agree about the Moffat era.

Beatles songs are very difficult to license. See various releases of The Chase.

Yes. If only there was a song the Beatles had recorded that they didn’t write and therefore don’t own the rights to — or more accurately isn’t owned by the estate of MJ. If only there was some song, maybe with the word twist in, that was owned by some music company with whom they have a relationship in place. Especially since they would have to maybe get someone who isn’t the actual Beatles to sing it anyway…
Alas.

Alas.

The plan was always to use the song that was used; licensing fees had nothing to do with anything.

Licensing fees were actually apparently part of the genesis of the idea. (Which I get, it’s a challenge, how do you do the Beatles without using Beatles music?)
And I think maybe they should have had a better plan.
(‘Aha!’ Said Rusty Dee, with a glimmer in his eye as he began dancing in his chair. ‘We can’t use the Beatles music that they wrote, so let’s use the beginning of twist and shout — ‘cos they didn’t write that did they! We can afford that, and I like the Isley Brothers anyway! — and then have our pretty pretty Doctor-man look into the lens and declare there’s a twist at the end! Perhaps if the episode is under-running Murray can do something with that! Ooh a musical number that cleverly lays out the plot or something!’ — as was said in a parallel universe where an audience got their narrative pay-off, and Chekhov’s Beatle was resolved. For example.)

Some interesting concepts here but they overdid it with the music. Maybe they should have gone for a straight up musical instead.

I'm a little surprised these were all sets, I had assumed they just went to a studio or somewhere like that.

Honestly, pretty similar thoughts to many other posters. Jinkx Monsoon was a blast, eating scenery with exactly the right amount of gusto; the only question I have with them is how do you follow a villain that good? The rest of the pantheon, especially the Old One, have a lot to live up to.

Still worry there isn't quite enough substance beneath the flash and kineticism, but it's early days for this incarnation.
