The DEADPOOL Movie Anticipation Thread

Great trailer!

It seems Deadpool isn't the only character in the movie that looks like he was lifted straight from the comics:

Now that's Colossus! :techman:

Maybe he'll actually get more than a single line in this movie, too

Actually, as much as it irritated me that Colossus basically only existed in the main X-Men movies so he could throw Wolverine in X-Men 3, having him be a very silent guy or just never able to say anything might be a funny recurring gag in Deadpool and any future movies they might put him in :rommie:

I thought he had a great (small) moment in X2 - when the mansion is under attack Colossus tells Wolverine he can help him - Wolverine tells him to help the kids escape instead.

I almost forgot about that. Still, for a character has been an X-Men in the comics for as long as Colossus has been, he really hasn't been treated very well. It made sense when he just cameoed in X2. It was a decent little scene. But, he was officially on the team in X-Men 3, and he had literally one line of dialog (telling Iceman that Rogue had left) and then he just existed to punch a few people and to throw Wolverine.

I like Colossus a lot in the comics, so I was kind of hoping that, once he officially joined the main team, he might actually be given a little bit more to do. Its just one small problem compared to the rest of X-Men 3 (which I think I like more than most people), but it was still disappointing for me. I don't think he'll get much in Deadpool, but even if he gets all of two lines and a short solo Deadpool/Colossus fight scene he'll still have gotten more than he had in the X-Men movies.

I think there was a reason why they didn't give the actor who played Colossus in the X-Men to many lines because he can't act. They were running short on time so they couldn't find another actor who resembles the character in height and likeness at the time. Daniel Cudmore certainly did have the body and the looks to play Colossus at the time. I wonder why they didn't ask him to play the character again in this new movie.

I'm guessing that must mean that he only appears in his metal form.

I'm literally crying from so much laughing right now.. new Deadpool trailer is here:

I don't know anything about Deadpool expect from the fanstuff you get on 9gag and such. But this looks like loads of fun.

I've read some fans were underwhelmed after the first trailer. How come? Is there something very wrong compared to the comics?

I don't think so.. this is very much true to the spirit of the comics and it being rated R is just the icing on the cake (and a small miracle).

I have high hopes for this movie and if the trailers are anything to judge it by it will be a blast.

I think the only thing "missing" is the fourth wall breaking within the movie itself--for those not familiar: in the comics, Deadpool knows he's a comic book character and will often get into arguments with the narrator...and various other voices in his head.
Now there is some in the trailers, but so far it looks like most of that has been done specifically for the trailers themselves, rather than taken right out of the movie. Hard to tell though. Some of it could be in the final film.

Small aside: I can't help but wonder what they'll be doing for the post credits scene. Something funny one would think. Part of me hopes they'll recreate this scene *exactly*, music and all. I think it'd suit. ;)

I think I read somewhere that Deadpool will break the fourth wall, I think at least one of the things he'll talk about is XO:W.
Love the new trailer, it's hilarious.

I'm trying to give this an honest shot, but, man, "lol monkeycheese chimichangas" humor just does not work for me at all.

I can definitely relate. I'm not a fan of Deadpool's 'humor' much in the comics. That being said, I liked the latest green band trailer. I do think Reynolds is perfect casting. And the latest trailer looked like the movie could be fun.

i've never been a big Deadpool fan but the movie looks like a lot of fun.

I've no special affection for the character (only read a handful of random comics in which he appears) but I'm really interested to see what they do with this. This is the first 18/r-rated comic book film since the Dredd movie a few years back, but unlike Dredd, this is a comedy and appears to be in shared continuity with the X-Men movies. In short: it's something new and what's more, it seems to feature a much more faithful version of Colossus than we've seen before.

Negasonic Teenage Warhead look like a lot of fun too. I looked her up out of curiosity and it's interesting that they took a nothing character that happened to have a very silly name and appeared to have crafted something entirely new.
In the comics, the character's codename (aside from being ridiculous) bore no relation to her powers. She was a psychic & a pre-cog...quickly followed by being a corpse. Seriously, she's in like two panels before she (along with most everyone else on Genosha) is wiped out.
Going by the trailer, it looks like her codename (while still very silly) actually makes some kind of sense.
Looks like her powers are like if you crossed Gambit's kinetic energy manipulation with Juggernaut's unstoppable inertia.

I'm not that familiar with character but everything I've seen so far looks like a lot of fun! Plus I don't know why he gets so much shit (well it's the internet, duh) but I really like Ryan Reynolds, even in bad movies he does a decent job.
