The CW Releases First Tomorrow People Trailer

That looks pretty awesome, pity it might flop since no one watches CW.

I'm not sure what I was more let down by, the shitty Australian remake in the mid nineties, or finally seeing reruns enough as an adult to discover how wrong I really was to cling to this drenn. It's amazing the deductive leaps and conflations my young mind created to make sense of the shitty poor story telling and... I don't hate the 70s, Blake's Seven is still excellent, and I cherish my inexact and wrong memories of the Tomorrow People, but the Tomorrow People was made for a considerably younger audience.

The actress who played Carol needed a muzzle.

The Preview however is pretty good.

Very Matrix.

Never saw the original show, but whenever I hear it mentioned, I inevitably think of a similarly named kids show from my childhood.

Anyway, based on the trailer it looks like they're going with a 'Heroes' by way of 'Smallville' type vibe. I honestly don't see thing being anything other than OK. I mean when they have to spoil what looks like the first show's twist ending in the trailer, there's clearly a problem.

That's actually a pretty common trait for pre-release trailers for TV shows. I've noticed over the last couple seasons that most of the trailers now show the plot of almost the entire pilot.
As for the trailer, I thought it looked pretty cool. I've enjoyed the CW Sci-Fi/Fantasy stuff I've watched (Supernatural, Vampire Diaries, The Secret Circle, ect.) so I'm pretty excited for this.

This is what I don't get.

Humans stopping posthuman development.

Sure, there's going to be a rough period of transition, but the worst nazi bigot patriot zealot, their children or children's children are going to be born posthuman.

This is exactly how gay culture prevailed, all the bigoted assholes from the 1950s, their grandchildren, and great grandchildren are gay and they're dead.

:)

What I liked about the original series was their routine and casual connection/communication with the 25th century... Although upon watching "most" of the show again, half of what I thought was the 25th century, just turned out ot be the Galactic Goverment.

I have the Big Finish Tomorrow people Audio adventures, I just haven't gotten around to listening to them yet.

I didn't realize until coming to this thread that this was a remake.
I just looked up the original series and now I'm wondering if they'll work aliens into this series at all?

I loved the 70's version on Nickelodeon when I was a kid. Didn't really ever care for the 90's remake. I've been hoping for a more "adult" or serious remake or a movie to be made, maybe ala'
nuBSG ...but I have a feeling, that while this will probably be grittier and edgier - but that's it's gonna be more teen angst/Twilight and less hard scifi.

But I will probably give it a chance.

Did I dream this or was there a show a few years ago where the post-humans really *were* crazy assholes who were trying to kill everyone rather than simply being misunderstood?

For the record, the original show was produced by Thames Television for broadcast on ITV. The second show was produced for Thames Television and Nickelodeon.

That was probably Prey, a short-lived ABC series. And they weren't all assholes, just most of them. One of the protagonists was one.

But if it wasn't for the super crazy red head, he would have have been into destroying homosapiens along with the rest.
