JM's Top Twenty-Five, Week Ending November 20th, 2010
1 – Oregon (10-0)
I think they run the table.
2 – Auburn (11-0)
I think they lose one of their last two.
3 – Boise State (10-0)
That was a pretty good Fresno State team they demolished.
4 – Texas Christian (11-0)
There's a distinct possibility that either they or BSU are left out of the BCS, while the Big East champ has a guaranteed slot. That's just ridiculous.
5 – Wisconsin (10-1)
They are just a whuppin' their opposition.
6 – Louisiana State (10-1)
You never had a sense Ole Miss would pull the upset.
7 – Stanford (10-1)
I think they're playing in Pasadena.
8 – Oklahoma State (10-1)
Stay with me here. If the 'Pokes win the Big 12 and go 12-1, South Carolina beats Auburn (can't be 'Bama, because Auburn would then have a chance to recoup against USC in the SEC title game and a 12-1 SEC champ trumps a 12-1 Big 12 champ), Nevada upsets Boise State in Reno, Oregon loses to either Arizona or Oregon State, Northwestern beats Wisconsin, Oregon State beats Stanford and Arkansas beats LSU, it's Texas Christian (which ain't gonna lose unless the Lord God intervenes) vs. Oklahoma State for the national title. Ain't gonna happen, but ... it's still possible, and hope springs eternal.
9 – Ohio State (10-1)
Adding "Oklahoma State loses to Oklahoma or in the Big 12 title game" to the above doesn't get the Bucks or Sparty to the BCS title game, because they ain't done enough this year.
10 – Michigan State (10-1)
Rallied against Purdue. Purdue? Geez.
11 – Alabama (9-2)
"A chance to ruin Auburn's dreams? Thank you, God!"
12 – Arkansas (9-2)
I was wrong. They've hung tough.
13 – Oklahoma (9-2)
Sadly, while my heart's in Stillwater, my head says OU beats the Cowboys. My gut has no opinion.
14 – Virginia Tech (9-2)
They might actually be in the national championship picture if they'd only lost to Boise.
15 – Nevada (10-1)
Their shining moment in the top fifteen, before the big showdown (and likely big letdown) in Reno with Boise State.
16 – Nebraska (9-2)
The win over Missouri keeps them here, though frankly the loss to Texas should have 'em lower.
17 – Missouri (9-2)
Could still make a run into the top ten.
18 – South Carolina (8-3)
Losing to Clemson before the SEC title game would not look good.
19 – Texas A&M (8-3)
They're extremely dangerous.
20 – North Carolina State (8-3)
Holy cow: If they beat Maryland, they play Virginia Tech for the ACC title.
21 – Florida State (8-3)
If they don't, FSU does, no matter what happens against UF.
22 – Utah (9-2)
Will the week off be enough to recover from the swoon?
23 – West Virginia (7-3)
The class of the Big East. What a joke.
24 – Arizona (7-3)
Friday's their big chance.
25 – Hawaii (8-3)
Could very well go 11-3. If they run the table, it helps Boise's case.
Rutgers Watch: Even RU's arguably greatest team of all time, the 11-2 squad that briefly competed for a national championship in 2006, got whupped at Cincinnati. They're just the 'Cats' bitch, simple as that.
I can't even watch anymore. This Knights team seems leaderless, rudderless and clueless. Granted, the LeGrand injury was devastating, but ... show some freakin' pride. I'm actually starting to wonder if Schiano's lost them.
