News The Center Seat: 55 Years of Star Trek drops today......

In episode three, at least they had Harold Livingston tell most of the story about TMP's trouble scriptwriting process instead of Cushman or Altman or Larry Nemecek. Also a lot more of the Xon screen test than we've seen before.
This makes me want to watch now. I was waiting to hear from someone if they'd have anything I didn't already know or hadn't already seen.

^

I'm going to show my ignorance here; which creatures and scenario did Gerrold lift from Heinlein?

I don't think Harold had a clue when he signed on. It sounds like it was a very frustrating experience. And of course, Ellison's views on the topic are legendary.

Finally watched the 4th episode. It was good but felt rushed. Like they spent half the show on WoK then decided to rush and squeeze in SfS and TVH.

I’d be interested in watching the remaining shows I just dunno if it’s worth the whole process of the free trial stuff to get there. Plus I can’t guarantee I’d watch all 6 in that week.

That's pretty much how I feel as well. As much as I'd like to see the remaining shows, I don't really have the time to do a free-week binge.

Hopefully someday (maybe for the 56th Anniversary next year) History will decide to broadcast the whole thing on the regular channel.

I just watched episode 3, I enjoyed it thoroughly.
Harold was awesome.
I like the effects they did, though they did go a bit long, you could easily have done 50% less fly by and vger fly through. #imho

I'm excited for ep 4 on my dvr.
I'm trying to spAce it out.
That paywall for 5-10, lame.

Oh the put episodes 5-10 behind a paywall. It's not gonna air on the History channel?

^Paywall was first brought up here.

I responded to that aspect of the topic here but quoted the wrong post, which is now corrected.

Update, some kind of error, (yeah, right) caused episodes 4 and 5 not to record on my cable channel. Only episodes 1-3 are present on DVR, so I was double screwed. Only episode 4 is available on demand.

So I am feeling very defeated about all this and almost ready to give in and pay up. Does anyone know if H-Vault is available as part of a package deal somewhere, or strictly stand alone because $5 a month for just one single channel feels like such a ripoff.

Just watched the TNG focused episode which is probably my least favorite of the episodes so far. Given the special features of the TNG blurays, there's not much new ground to cover and also seemed to be fewer interviews this time around, though it was nice to see Diana Muldaur interviewed though she is looking frail. There was one dubious claim about why Worf was created (David Gerrold and DC Fontona alluded it had to do with Gene's sexist attitude because the original pilot script had Yar in command of the saucer section and he was against that which I don't buy).

I've got some free time this week, so I thought I'd stream some of this, at least the early episodes. But the History Channel doesn't stream them, apparently. Anyone have a different experience? Is it just me, or don't they really want anyone to watch this series?

Space in Canada started airing them the same night as Discovery when it started back up. Adding Ready Room it gives me a day with 3 new Star Trek episodes.
