The Cat Thread!

And see if you can start clipping his nails. With kittens, those things are like hypodermic needles.

Tell me about it. I still have scars from where Eddie scratched me when he was a kitten. :( He's never really learned how to retract his claws.

My cat is a chronic clawer and panics at the sight of a nail trimmer. I have to take him to the vet to have his claws trimmed. Thank god for softpaws.

I would recommend you take a kitten to a veterianarian to clip his claws as well, as cat claws have arteries running through them that must be avoided, and due to their small size, kitten claws are especially hard to guage where those arteries are.

The Squeak is not interested in these matters...

and wants you to look into his eyes...

^We have five polydactyls. Esme has the most toes, with eight on one paw. Abby has opposable thumbs which she uses to great mischief.

Yeah, I'm going to have my mother-in-law come over and do it because she's dealt with cats her whole life and knows how to do it. RIght now he's like a little stabby furball of doom.

My youngest sister in the family is the biggest one on cats they pretty much everyone in the family likes them and we've had a few the first when I was four and innocently named her Pussy, then Tiger (bad tempered thing - died playing chicken with the traffic), Tawney (put down due to bowel obstruction), Bubbles (part siamese, vocal, bad tempered and put the fear of God into our rottweiler, sucumbed to cancer).

There's Paws who I don't have a photo of atm (he's a black tuxedo cat, very friendly and affectionate but when it comes to balance and agility, well he'd make a good dog).

Now between my mum's place and my sister's place we have
Oscar

Sebastian (could be an inclusion for the do you regret getting a cat - my sister claims he has homicidal tendancies towards here).

And Rupert (a Devon Rex). Referred to by my brother as Space Alien Cat

It's a safe bet that a cat with opposable thumbs will make an attempt at sudden world domination, so keep your eyes on that one.
 It is true of her too; she is very clever and devious! Here you can see their extra toes a bit better:

Here is their many-toed mother a-cuddling:

When Nana had her second litter Peaches gained weight. We caught her nursing one night, explaining the mystery!
