Cats, not cars -- go elsewhere for your automotive needs. :shifty:

I know a number of members here have pretty kitties andh ave posted pictures, as have I. So I figure I'll start off by re-posting some images, and some I haven't put up:

These photos are of local homeless kitties I befriended, and when I find leftover scraps, or can swing it, try to bring them something.

In this first photo is "Sprite" and "Bunny"; when I first encoutnered Bunny, she was almost pure white and probably about five months old. She and "Black & White" (extremely uncreative name me and another patron have given another kitty) were tiny, skittish, and always running away and peaking around a tree, watching me.

Sprite was, as I found, more like the pimp kitty, always trying to get people's attention, love, and food. She's walk out to anybody (except yelling, running kids), and usually plop down in front of their path -- demanding attention.

I used to pet Sprite all the time -- many times pretting her while she slept in my lap for 30 minutes, and she was the leader of the "Bush Kitties", as I nick named them. About September/October, she vanished. Thankfully a lady who comes daily to give them some food, said a couple came to the park and adopted her, so at least she wasn't killed.

Bunny, pictured here from April -- before the spots on her appeared and have almsot completely taken over her pure whiteness -- has since become the leader of the Bush Kitties:

It took about four or so months, but now Bunny trusts me 95%. She'll run up to me, she'll let me rub her belly, she'll even lick me. And I'd taught her to do cute meows. She's also started to pick up purring. Two other cats that live in the bush right now, who seem to have been spawned from a cat that must have been house-raised, purr and this in turn seems to be something the Bush Kitties are learning -- if they had apposible thumbs, we'd be fucked!

Seen here is Bunny's friend, Black & White. Too about a month longer to get him. Now he's starting to pure and meow, runs up to me on occassion, is absolutely loving to be pet now, is getting fat (they all are). He's prety much second in command, and the armored guard (sharp claws), who will whack encrouching kitties.

Not pictured, though I got about three pictures (none good), is "Stubs", and the newest kitty to enter the community (Well, not "new", but they are accepting him/her) Sherbet (an orange and white kitty).

Bunny is cute as hell, as you can see below:

^ Shimm, about 10 minutes ago. He obviously wants something. Something in the "food" department. Yeah, he wants food lol

Here's some of my baby, Fergie. I adopted her on the day she turned 2. She turned 5 on 12/28/09. These are pictures of when I first got her.

Here she is on her first day at her new home.

Here she is asleep, just over a week after she came to live with me.

Here she is enjoying her bed and feeling very comfortable.

Here she is sleeping with my stuffed animals.

And here she is with her baby. She would sleep with it daily for about a month. Now she just holds it for a bit then pushes it away.

I really love my baby girl. And she loves me too. I caught a nasty cold a few weeks ago and when I went to sleep at night she jumped on the bed, sniffed my forehead, nuzzled my head, then curled up on the corner of bed where she could watch me. When I woke up she was there.

My Calico, The Nerd, when we got her in Summer 2008 during a return from from Missouri to Oklahoma. It was over 100 degrees and I don't have A/C in the truck. She was hot, panting, and drooling, so I pulled over to get gas and bought a bag of ice and a styrofoam cooler. Dropped her inside and she did fine the rest of the way home.

Luna, aka The Bear. Got her to keep The Nerd company. Luna is mellow and a grump, yet she antagonizes The Nerd into chasing her all the time.

Both cats on the front stoop during a summer day.

MommaCat-3.jpg

Momma Cat. One of the best Maine-Coon mixes ever. She "talked" like most Maines do, and was very good about going outside all the time, so I never needed a litter box with her.

This is Spike:

This is Cherry:

Here they are in our windowsill:

They drive me absolutely bonkers -- and Spike has separation anxiety, so if I'm in the house, he has to be in physical contact with me at all times -- but I wouldn't have them any other way.

I'm so awkward with Comet, and he slashed me this morning without meaning to, but I love him anyway. We're going to try that "Soft Paws" thing. He's also awesome at playing fetch already.

He meows all the time, though. It doesn't seem like a sad thing, but I don't really know enough about cats. Do some cats just "talk" a lot more than others?

Yeah, some of them are chatterboxes. At least he feels comfortable talking to you guys.

And see if you can start clipping his nails. With kittens, those things are like hypodermic needles.

Soft Paws are great, they keep them from scratching up the furniture, and the different colors are fun.

I've found that males tend to be more vocal. Often they'll grow out of the mewing phase, though. My dad's kitten Gort mewed constantly for a month, but now is a very quiet kitty.
